161.04 ADMINISTRATIVE CODE 38 <br />161.04 ABSENCE IN EXCESS OF SEVEN DAYS. <br />All elective officials and employees of Council who except to be absent from the City <br />in excess of seven days shall be required to notify the Clerk of Council of such proposed <br />absence and if at all possible, where the official or employee may be reached during <br />such absence. <br />All appointive officials and members of all Boards and Commissions of the City, who <br />expect to be absent from the City for a period in excess of seven days, are required to <br />advise the Office of the Mayor of such proposed absence' and furnish if at all possible, an <br />address where the official may be reached during such absence. <br />(Res. 3094. Passed 9-6-60.) <br />161.05 MERIT PAY INCREASE; EXCEPTIONS. <br />The various department heads of the City are authorized and directed to grant to <br />employees within their respective departments a two and one-half percent wage increase <br />to those employees under their supervision, who in the opinion of the head of the depart- <br />ment, are entitled to such wage increase by virtue of their reliability, competency arnd <br />efficiency; namely, to the secretaries. employed by the City, excepting the Mayor's and <br />Law Director's secretaries, school guards, auxiliary police, employees of the Recreation <br />Department, Superintendent of the Sanitary Sewerage Treatment Plant, employees of the <br />Service Department, Rod and Chain Men, Sewer Inspectors and employees of the Building <br />Department. The effective date shall be May 15, 1961, or as soon thereafter as the <br />heads of departments certify that employees under their supervision have qualified for <br />such wage increase.. (Ord. 61-104. Passed 5-16-61.) <br />161.06 BONDS. <br />(a) The following persons shall be required to furnish a good and .sufficient surety <br />bond conditioned upon the faithful performance of their position in the respective amount <br />set forth herein. The premium payable on any such bond shall be paid by the City. <br />Finance Director and Secretary to the <br />Finance Director ........................... $10,000. each. <br />Building Commissioner ........................ $ 5, 000. <br />Municipal Bua Line Superintendent of <br />Operations and the Bus Inspector ..............$ 5, 000. each <br />(b) A blanket bond of $1, 000 shall cover all other City officers and employees except <br />those specifically mentioned herein-and as otherwise provided by law. <br />
