301.01 TRAFFIC CODE 4 <br />CROSS REFERENCES <br />Similar State law definitions -see Ohio R.C. 4511.01 <br />Funeral procession defined -see TRAF. 331.21 <br />Drag racing defined -see TRAF. 333.06 <br />Compartment defined =see TRAF. 343.02 <br />Blind person defined -see TRAF. 371.02 <br />301.01 MEANING OF WORDS AND PHRASES. <br />The following words and phrases when used in this Traffic Code shall have the meanings <br />respectively ascribed to them in this chapter. (Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42.) <br />301.02 AGRICULTURAL TRACTOR. <br />"Agricultural tractor" shall mean every self-propelling vehicle designed or used for <br />drawing other vehicles or wheeled machinery but having no provision for carrying loads <br />independently of such other vehicles, ,and used principally for agricultural purposes. <br />(Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42.) <br /> <br />301.03 BICYCLE. <br />"Bicycle" shall mean atwo-wheel vehicle, propelled by human power, having a tandem <br />arrangement of wheels equipped with tires either of which is over twenty inches in diameter. <br />(Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42.) <br />301.04 BUS. <br />"Bus" shall mean every motor vehicle designed for carrying more than nine passengers <br />and used for the transportation of persons, and every motor vehicle, automobile for hire, <br />or funeral car, other than a taxicab, designed and used for the transportation of persons for <br />compensation. (Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42.) <br />301.05 BUSINESS DISTRICT. <br />"Business district" shall mean the territory fronting upon a street or highway, including <br />the street or highway, between successive intersections where fifty per cent or more of the <br />frontage between such successive intersections is occupied by buildings in use for business, <br />or where fifty per cent or more of the frontage for a distance of three hundred feet or more <br />is occupied by buildings in use for business, and the character of such territory is indicated <br />by official traffic control devices. (Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42. ) <br />301.06 CENTER OR CENTER LINE OF STREET. <br />"Center or center line of street" shall mean the exact center of the improved portion <br />of the roadway, or that line designated and marked by traffic control devices for the <br />purpose of dividing traffic moving in opposite directions into right and left sides of the <br />roadway. (Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42. ) <br />
