L TRn CTOR. <br />"Commercial tractor" shall mean every motor vehicle having motive power designed <br />or used for drawing other vehicles and not so constructed as to carry any load thereon, <br />or designed or used, fo.r drawing ot)xer vehicles while carrying a portion of such ather <br />vehicles, or the load thereon, or both. (Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42.) <br />301.08 C.ROSSWA LK . <br />"Crosswalk" shall mean: <br />(a) That part of a roadway at intersections ordlnari.ly included within the real or pro- <br />jected prolongation of pr. operty lines and-curb lines or, in the absence of curbs the <br />edges of the tra.ve.rsa.ble roadway; <br />(b) Any portion of a roadway at an intersection or elsewhere, distinctly indicated for <br />pedestrian crossing by lines or other markings on the surface; <br />(c) Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this section, there shall not be a <br />crosswalk where authorized signs have been placed indicating no crossing. <br />301.09 DRIVER OR OPERATOR. <br />"Driver" or "ope.rator"shall mean every person who drives or is in actual physical <br />control of a vehicle. (Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42.) <br />301.10 EMERGENCY VF~IIICLE. <br />"Emergency vehicle" shall. mean Fire Department, Police, and State highway patrol <br />vehicles, ambulances, vehicles of salvage corporations organized under Ohio Revised Code <br />1709.01 et seq. , emergency vehicles of mi.mieipal or county departments or public utility <br />corporations when identified as such as required by law, motor vehicles when commandeered <br />by a police officer, and motor vehicles when used by volunteer firemen responding to <br />emergency calls in the Fire 1)e~..rtment service when identified as required by la.w. <br />301.11 EXPLOSIVES. <br />"Explosives" shall nrtca.n any chemical compound or mechanical mixture that is intended <br />for the purpose of producing an explosion that contains any oxidizing and combustible units <br />or other ingredients in such proportions, quantities, ox• packing that an ignition by fire, by <br />friction, by concussion, by percussion, or by a detonator of any part of the compound or <br />mixture may cause such a sudden generation of highly heated gases that the resultant gaseous <br />pressures are capable of producing destructive effects on contiguous objects, or of destroy- <br />ing life or limb. <br />Manufactured articles shall not be held to be explosives when the individual units con- <br />fain explosives in such limited quantities, of such nature, or in such packing, that it is <br />impossible to procure a simultaneous or a destructive explosion of such units, to the injury <br />of life, limb, or property by fire, by friction, by concussion, by percussion or by a <br />detonator, such as fixed ;ammunition for small arms, firecrackers, or safety fuse matches. <br />(Ord. 613. Passed 7-7-42.) <br />301.12 FLAMMABLE L,I4~ UID . <br />"` "Flammable liquid" shall mean any liquid which has a flash point of seventy degrees <br />Fahrenheit, or less, as determined by a tagliabue or equivalent closed cup test device. <br />(Ord. 613.
