5 <br />CHARTER <br />OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />PREA.NIB LE <br />We, the people of the City of North Olmsted, in the County <br />of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, in order to secure for our- <br />selvea the benefits of municipal home rule and to exercise <br />all the powers of -local self -government under God, and <br />under the Constitution and laws of the State of Ohio, do <br />ordain and establish this Charter for the government of the <br />City of North Olmsted. <br />fl: <br />`~~ <br />ARTICLE I <br />NAME AND BOUNDARIES <br />The municipal corporation now existing and Imown as the City of North Olmsted, in <br />the County of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, shall continue to be a body politic and corporate <br />under the same name and with the same boundaries, with power and authority to change <br />its boundaries and annex other territory contiguous thereto in the manner authorized by <br />the general lawn of the State of Ohio; but no territory shall be detached therefrom, nor <br />shall the City be annexed to any other municipality without the consent of the Council and <br />of a majority of its electors voting on such question. <br />ARTICLE II <br />POWERS <br />The City of North Olmsted shall have all the powers, express or implied, now or <br />hereafter granted to municipalities by the Constitution and laws of the State of Ohio, and <br />such further powers as may now or hereafter be granted by the laws of the State of Ohio; <br />and all such powers shall be exercised in the manner prescribed by this Charter or by <br />ordinance of the Council created hereby. <br />
