OHIO
OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
PAUL J. GAREAU
MAYOR
The Council of the City of North Olmsted
North Olmsted, Ohio
.., Dear Members of the Council ;
December 15, 1961
Re: Resolution No. 61-210 - Requesting the Director of
Public Service to exercise the option in the contract
of the Gity with Floyd Browne and Associates for the
purposes of hiring Harry Kennard to assist the estimating
Board appointed to prepare assessments for the sanitary
sewerage system.
With regards to Resolution No. 61-210, this is vetoed because it is an
unwarranted and unnecessary expenditure of public funds. To clarify
this, I do not believe it is necessary to employ personnel outside the
eonf Ines of the City of North Olmsted to secure the assistance that
this resolution calls for. It is a matter that requires only the
assistance of someone who has the common, basic, and elementary know-
ledge of assessment, which policy should be as directed by the Council
of the City of North Olmsted, and I believe it is unnecessary to pay a
premium on a basic salary, as would be the ease, if employing a repre-
sentative of our consulting engineers by exercising the option of the
existing contractural agreement.
Very-truly yours,
PJG:tf
CITY OF N/~ORTH OIMSPED
~~.GC~C ~~t/~,,P..oc-rrJ
Paul J. Gareau, Mayor
