By : ~~i ~; AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF ORDINANCE N0. 61-59, ENACTED MARCH 28, 1961, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING SALARIES, WAGES AND BONDS OF APPOINTED OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED'~, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 62 - 126, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Ordinance 62-126 contained an error in that Sergeants pay was shown as $6,799.56 and should have been shown as $6,31$.08;and WHEREAS, Fire Lieutenants pay was shown as $6,318.18 and should have been shown as $6,318.08; and WN~RIAS, in order to correct said error the Council deems it necessary to repeal Ordinance 62 - 126 and pass new legislation describing new salaries correctly. State of Ohio: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, Section 1: That Sections 1 and 2 of Ordinance No. 61-59, as enacted March 28, 1961, now reading as follows: "Section l: That beginning April 1, 1961, the base salaries of the members of the Police Department are hereby fixed and determined to be as follows: Chief of Police Lieutenant of Police Sergeants Patrolman for First Year Patrolman for Second Year Patrolman after Second Year School Guards Auxiliary Police $7,130.31 Annually 6,598.95 Annually 6,268.08 " 5,320.73 " 5,566.49 6,002.40 1.75 per hour 1.75 per hour which salaries shall be payable by the Auditor Semi-monthly. Full time employees of the Police Department having completed five years of continuous service as a full time employee of said department and only after assuming full time employment in said department, shall be paid an additional one per cent of their base annual salary thereafter until completion of the 10th year of continuous service as a full time employee in said department, when such employee shall receive three percent of his base annual salary per annum thereafter until the completion of his 15th year of continuous service in said department as a full time employee, and thereafter shall receive four percent additional increment to his base annual salary per annum thereafter until the completion of his 20th year of continuous service in said department as a full time employee and during each year of full time employment thereafter shall receive an additional five percent of his base annual salary per annum, as a longevity increment. In computing length of service for the purpose of making payments in the manner hereinabove set forth as longevity increments, no credit shall be given to an employee for service as a part-time employee of either the Police Department of Fire Department. Such limitation is ®nly to apply for the purpose of computing longevity increments and such exclusions for any part-time employee in either of the safety departments shall not deprive or restrict an employee of any other benefit which may be due him for such part-time service as an employee in either safety department, which benefits are recognized by ordinances of the city for other purposes, statutes of the State of Ohio or benefits to which he may be entitled to under the rules and regulations of the Police Relief and Pension Fund or the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
