i <br />1 ~ ~t <br />i <br />.,, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE No, b2 - 138 <br />~. <br />By : ~~i ~; <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF ORDINANCE <br />N0. 61-59, ENACTED MARCH 28, 1961, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE <br />DETERMINING SALARIES, WAGES AND BONDS OF APPOINTED <br />OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED'~, <br />AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 62 - 126, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance 62-126 contained an error in that Sergeants <br />pay was shown as $6,799.56 and should have been shown as $6,31$.08;and <br />WHEREAS, Fire Lieutenants pay was shown as $6,318.18 and should <br />have been shown as $6,318.08; and <br />WN~RIAS, in order to correct said error the Council deems it <br />necessary to repeal Ordinance 62 - 126 and pass new legislation describing <br />new salaries correctly. <br />State of Ohio: <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, <br />Section 1: That Sections 1 and 2 of Ordinance No. 61-59, as <br />enacted March 28, 1961, now reading as follows: <br />"Section l: That beginning April 1, 1961, the base salaries <br />of the members of the Police Department are hereby fixed and determined to <br />be as follows: <br />Chief of Police <br />Lieutenant of Police <br />Sergeants <br />Patrolman for First Year <br />Patrolman for Second Year <br />Patrolman after Second Year <br />School Guards <br />Auxiliary Police <br />$7,130.31 Annually <br />6,598.95 Annually <br />6,268.08 " <br />5,320.73 " <br />5,566.49 <br />6,002.40 <br />1.75 per hour <br />1.75 per hour <br />which salaries shall be payable by the Auditor Semi-monthly. <br />Full time employees of the Police Department having completed <br />five years of continuous service as a full time employee of said department <br />and only after assuming full time employment in said department, shall be <br />paid an additional one per cent of their base annual salary thereafter <br />until completion of the 10th year of continuous service as a full time <br />employee in said department, when such employee shall receive three percent <br />of his base annual salary per annum thereafter until the completion of his <br />15th year of continuous service in said department as a full time employee, <br />and thereafter shall receive four percent additional increment to his base <br />annual salary per annum thereafter until the completion of his 20th year of <br />continuous service in said department as a full time employee and during <br />each year of full time employment thereafter shall receive an additional <br />five percent of his base annual salary per annum, as a longevity increment. <br />In computing length of service for the purpose of making payments in the <br />manner hereinabove set forth as longevity increments, no credit shall be <br />given to an employee for service as a part-time employee of either the <br />Police Department of Fire Department. Such limitation is ®nly to apply for <br />the purpose of computing longevity increments and such exclusions for any <br />part-time employee in either of the safety departments shall not deprive <br />or restrict an employee of any other benefit which may be due him for <br />such part-time service as an employee in either safety department, which <br />benefits are recognized by ordinances of the city for other purposes, <br />statutes of the State of Ohio or benefits to which he may be entitled to <br />under the rules and regulations of the Police Relief and Pension Fund or the <br />Ohio Public Employees Retirement System. <br />
