.- <br />s <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMST£D <br />ORInNANCE IJO. 64-_I e_7- <br />13Y V v ,SA-t <br />AIJ ORDINANCE AMENDiING SECTION 1& 2 OF ORDiNANCE ? <br />NO. 63-248 ENACTED NOVEMBER 19, 1963, BEING AN <br />ORDINANCE DETERMINING COMPENSATION FOR POLICEMEN, <br />FIREMEN, SCHOOL GUARDS, AUXILIARY POLICE AND PART- <br />TIME FIREMEN, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council beinq advised by the Finance Committee that <br />negotiations with the employees of the Police and Fire Departments have been <br />carried on for a considerable period of time, and <br />WHEREAS, it was part of said neqotiations that any new rate <br />i established for the employees covered by thfs ordinance would be effective <br />? as of 1Vovember l, 1964,and <br />WHEREAS, Council being advised by the Finance Committee <br />that they recommend that the longevity pay of the employees of the Police <br />and Fire .Department be increased by one per cent (1%), and <br />WHEREAS, in order to maintain an efficient Fire and Police <br />Department Council has determined that the increase as recommended by <br />the Finance Department shall be qranted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />Citv of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 63-248 reading as <br />follow s: <br />"Section 1: That effective November 1, 1963, the base <br />salaries of the members of the Police Department are hereby <br />fixed and determined to be as follows: <br />Chief of Police $ 7,800.00 annually <br />Lieutenant of Police 7,300.00 annually <br />Sergeants 6,900.00 annually <br />Patrolmen for Ffrst Year 5,500.00 annually <br />Patrolmen for Second Year 5,900.00 annually <br />Patrolmen after Second Year 6,500.00 annually <br />School Guards 1.75 per hour <br />Auxiliary Police 1.75 per hour <br />which salaries shall be payable by the Director of Finance <br />semi-monthly. <br />Any of the above, with the exception of school guads and <br />4y auxiliary police, shall, while on duty as plain clothes detectives, <br />be paid additional compensation at the rate of $200.00 annually <br />for all time spent as plain clothes detectives. <br />Full time employees of the Police Department havinq completed <br />five years of full time continuous service as employees of said <br />department shall be paid an additiorpl 296 of their base annual <br />salary thereafter until completion oi the tenth year of continuous <br />r, dull time service, after which such employees shall receive <br />396 of their base annual salaiy thereafter until the completion <br />of the 15th year of continuous full time service, and thereafter
