,4 <br />i <br />(;ITY OF NORTFi OLMS?ED ORIXNANCE NO. 64-?_ Paqe 4 <br />f <br />Section 373 e 12 Rentel Aqenciea <br />A rental aqency operatinq within the city limits of North Olmstsd <br />shall not rent oc offer any bicycle for rent unless the bicycle <br />is licensed and a licsnse plate is a4tached as pravided herein <br />and such bicycle is equipped wi4h the lamps and the other equiP- <br />ment required by 4his ordinance, and is in safe operatinq oondition. <br />Section 373.13 Traffic Coda Application <br />Bvery person ridinq a bicycle upon a street shall be qranted <br />all of the riqhts and shall be aubject to all of the duties <br />applicable to the driver of a vehicle by the laws of this State, <br />or by the traffic ordinances of this City, applicable to the <br />driver of a vehicle, except as to special regulations in this <br />ordinances which by their nature can have no application. <br />Section 373.14 Obedience to Traffic Control Devices <br />(a) Any peraon operatinq a bicycle shall obey the instructions <br />of official traffic-control siqnals, siqns and other control <br />devices applicable to vehicles, unless otherwise directed by <br />a police officer. <br />(b) Whenever authorized siqns are erected that no riqht or left <br />or "U" turns are permitted, no person operatinq a bicycle shall <br />disobey the direction of any such sign, except where such person <br />dismounts from the bicycle to make any suah turn, in which . <br />event such person shall then obey the requlations applicable to <br />pedestrians. <br />Section 373.15 Riding on Streets, Bicycle Paths or Sidewalks <br />It shall be leqal to ride a bicycle upon a sidewalk, street or <br />public way, or upon any path set aside for the exclusive use of <br />bicycles, subject to the follawing: <br />(a) Every person operatinq a bicycle upon a street shall ride <br />as near to the right side of the street as is practicable, exercisinq <br />due care when passinq a standing vehicle or one proceedinq in the <br />same direction. <br />(b) Persons riding bicycles upon a street shall ride in sir1q1e <br />file only and not abreast except on paths or parts of streets <br />set asicie for the exclusive uae of bicycles. <br />? (c) Wherever a designated path for bicyc2es has been provided <br />adjacent to a streete bicycle rlders shall use such path and shall <br />not uae the street. <br />(d) Any person operating a bicycle shall ride upon the sidewalk <br />rather than the roadway when sidewalks are available and not <br />conqested with pedestrian traffic. . If the sidewalk is conqested <br />with pedestrian traffic, the bicycle operator using the sidewralk <br />shall walk the bicycle e At no time shall a bicyclist under the <br />age o# five operate a bicycle on a street. <br />,
