,aP±^- . . • CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 78- _J/ BY: / - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 163.05 ENTITLED "HUMAN RESOURCES ADVISORY BOARD" OF CHAPTER 163 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES. WHEREAS, upon recommendation of the Director of the Department of Human Resources this Council finds it necessary to amend Subsection (b) of Section 163.05 to permit the Human Resources Advisory Board to have assistance through subcommittees in carrying out their functions and duties. SECTION 1: That Section 163.05 of Chapter 163 tivhich now reads: "163.05 HIJMAN RESOURCES ADVISORY BOARD. (a) Creatiori. There is hereby created an advisory board to be known as the Human Resources Advisory Board, which Board shall consist of seven members appointed by the Mayor and con- firmed by a majority of Council for a term of five years. The terms of inembers first appointed shall be staggered and the terms shall be as follows: (1) One from the effective date of Ordinance 74-26, passed May 21, 1974, to December 31, 1975; (2) One from the effective date of Ordinance 74-26, passed May 21, 1974, to December 31, 1976; (3) One from the effective date of Ordinance 74-26, passed May 21, 1974, to December 31, 1977; (4) One from the effective date of Ordinance 74-26, passed May 21, 1974, to December 31, 1978; and (5) Three from the effective date of Ordinance 74-26, passed May 21, 1974, to December 31, 1979. ' Any vacancy shall be filled in the same manner for the unexpired term. (b) Powers and Duties. The Human Resources Advisory Board shall meet monthly or the purpose of advising and assisting the Director of Human Resources in the establishment of policies and procedure with respect to prospective programs or activities deemed necessary to carry out the purpose of the Department of Human Resources as outlined in this chapter. The Board shall also confer with the Mayor and Council relative to the establishment of programs designed to meet the human needs of the residents of the City. The Board shall further recommend to the Mayor and Council an annual budget. (c) Rules and Regulations. The Board shall adopt rules and regulations with respect to the conducting of ineetings which shall be consistent with the purpose and intent of the powers and duties set forth in this section.
