President Limpert <br />referred same into Transportation Committee. <br />Ordinance No. 78-26 was introduced by Mr. Wilamosky and given its first reading. <br />An Ordinance establishing the organizational chart for the Finance Department of <br />the City of North Olmsted, setting forth the compensation to be paid emp?oyees <br />of the Finance Department and repealing Ord. No. 77-106 enacCed July 5, 1977, <br />and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 78-27 was introduced by Mr. Wilamosky and given its first reading. <br />An Ordinance establishing the salary ranges of individuals within the Department <br />of Budget and Management and declaring an emergency. <br />Under Old Business: Mrs. Petrigac inquired what steps have been takea with respect to illegal <br />connections that may exist as there has been concern on the flooding in the <br />eastern end of lJard 1. Service Director Corrigan explained what steps he has <br />taken relative to getting updated records of the smoke testing program, etc. <br />Discussed the sewer system; al$o explained that there ien't any one simple <br />solution and discusaed the manq factors that enter into tbe possible flooding <br />of homes in that area. Law Director Gareau explained for the benefit of those <br />not on Council at the time that a smoke program was conducted with respect to <br />unlawful connections and attempts were made through the Service Dept. to have <br />those people disconnect and when that faiied it was turned over to the Law <br />Department. Last summer Law Director Garesu and Prosecutor Albenze worked on <br />this program. Can report that all houses with problem connections havg now <br />disconnected. <br />Mrs. Petrigac discussed with.Mr. Wilamosky why $7,000. from Recreation Commission <br />money was put into Recreation Center Complex. Lengthy discussion ensued. <br />` <br />Mrs. Saringer referred to last Fall when she had originally suggested a block watch <br />program - at that time did not anticipate any funding. If these funds are available <br />all well and good; however, if we are not able to get any funding would still like <br />to pureue a program to get the citizens involved. <br />Mrs. Sharpe referred to a traffic survey which was taken on Dover Center Rd. some- <br />time within the last two years in the vicinity of Driscoll Lane and Cottonwood. <br />The survey showed it was not feasible to erect a traffic signal becauae it would <br />?• hinder the traffic on Dover Rd. Mrs. Sharpe requested another survey be taken <br />? inasmuch as a new development behind Cottonwmod Trail is generating more traffic <br />on Cottonwood and Dover. Safety Director Petre will review same. <br />?e,..-•.?_ <br />Mr. Beaty asked status of Ord. No. 78-1 and was informed the Clerk an L w <br />Director Gareau are proof reading the updating of the codified ordinances and <br />have not finished yet. <br />Mr. Beaty referred to liquor application for a C-1 and C-2 to Brendans Fine <br />Irish Imports which Cornmcil by a vote of 4 to 3 objected to and requested a <br />.? hearing. Said hearing is Feb. 23rd, - and according to the notice to Council <br />a representative is needed from the legislative suthority to appear at the hearing. <br />Law Director Garesu stated as legal representative of the City he can put forth
