CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 64- ,,~/~ <br />BY _;., , <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE V, CHAPTER 339, <br />SECTION 339.01 (CODIFIED ORDINANCES) ENTITLED <br />SPECIAL PERMITS FOR VEHICIES, AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, The Chief of Police of the City of North <br />Olmsted has advised Council that certain loads within the City of North <br />Olmsted require a police escort in order to move over the i^oads within <br />the City of North Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, Council in order to facilitate the moving of <br />the special loads and also to protect the citizens anal the roads within the <br />City of North Olmsted desires to and hereby do regulate the moving of <br />special loads within the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of <br />the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That Section 3 39 .01, Chapter 339 , Title Five <br />Traffic Code, (Codified Ordinances) entitled, "Special Permits for Vehicles" . <br />"The Chief of the Police Department may, upon application <br />in writing and for good cause shown, issue a special permit <br />in writing authorizing the applicant to operate or move a <br />vehicle or combination of vehicles of a size or weight of <br />vehicle or load exceeding the maximum specified in <br />Ohio Revised Code, 5577.01 to 5577.09, inclusive, or <br />Codified Ordinances.--Semen 339.02 and Section 33903, <br />or otherwise not in conformity with Codified Ordinance <br />Chapter 337, upon any street or other public place. Any <br />such permit may be issued for a single or a round trip or, in <br />special instances , for a certain period of time . <br />"The Chief of the Police Department may issue or withhold <br />such permit; or, if such permit is issued, may limit or <br />prescribe conditions of operation for such vehicle, anal <br />require bond or other security necessary to compensate for <br />any damage to a roadway or road structure . <br />"Every such permit shall be carried in the vehicle or com- <br />bination of vehicles to which it refers and shall be open <br />to inspection by any police officer or lawful authority. No <br />person shall violate any of the terms of such permit . <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 339.01, Chapter 339, Title V, "Traffic Code" <br />(Codified Ordinances) Special Permits for Vehicles . <br />The Chief of the Police Department may, upon application <br />in writing and for good cause shown, issue a special permit in writing author- <br />izing the applicant to operate or move a vehicle or combination of vehicles of <br />a size or weight of vehicle or load exceeding the maximum specified in Ohio <br />
