CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 64-179 Page 2 <br />Section 373.04 License Required <br />No person, who resides within this communicty, shall ride or <br />propel a bicycle upon any sidewalk, street, public path or <br />public way set aside for the exclusive use of bicycles unless <br />such bicycle has been licensed by the Chief of Police of this <br />community and the license plate is attached thereto as;~provided <br />herein . <br />r°''` This provision shall not apply to any bicycles in transit within <br />`~ the corporate limits of the municipality; provided that such <br />bicycles have been registered in some other municipality in <br />accordance with the terms of an ordinance similar to the fore- <br />going if such exists, or if the owner is a resident of another <br />community. <br />Section 373.05 License Application for a Bicycle <br />Application for registration of a bicycle shall be made to the <br />Chief of Police upon forms provided by him, which shall contain <br />the name and address of the applicant, the name and address <br />of the owner's parents or guardian; in the event the applicant <br />is a minor, the make , color, and serial number or other <br />identifying marks of the bicycle and other information as the <br />Chief of Police shall deem pertinent. <br />Subsequent to the effective date of this ordinance, all ...licenses <br />sold will be effective for three years and will cost $1.25. On <br />January 1, 1965, all licenses issued prior to the effective date <br />of this ordinance will expire and must be replaced with the <br />new three-year license. <br />Section 373.06 Issuance of License <br />(a) The Chief of Police upon receipt of the proper application <br />accompanied by the required fee, is authorized to issue a <br />bicycle license which shall be effective for a period of three <br />years , <br />(b) The Chief of Police shall not issue a license for any <br />bicycle when he knows or has reasonable grounds to believe <br />that the applicant is not the owner or entitled to the possession <br />of such bicycle or that such bicycle is not in safe operating <br />condition . <br />_ (c) The Chief of Police shall keep a record of the number of <br />each license, the date issued, the name and address of the <br />'„'°~ <br />person to whom issued, the name and address of the owner's <br />parents or guardian if the owner is a minor, the name of the <br />manufacturer, color, serial number, or other identifying marks <br />of the bicycle for which issued and other information as the <br />Chief of Police shall deem pertinent, and a record of all bicycle <br />license fees collected by him. <br />._._..., _~-. .k ~._~..~,.,,n,.:Y....~ ,.~..~~. ~ . w~~~ <br />
