CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 64 ~, <br />BY ~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SECTIONS 375.01 and 375.02 <br />OF CHAPTER 375, TITLE NINE OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND AN~6' ORDINANCE, <br />THE RESULT OF WHICH, THE AFORESAID CODSFiED ORDINANCES <br />BECAME EFFECTIVE, AND TO ENACT NEW SECTIONS RELATNE <br />TO THE OPERATION OF MOTORCYCLES WITHIN THE CITY OF <br />NORTH O~ISTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, THE operation of motorcycles require regulations <br />which are unique and which are in addition to the regulations of other motor <br />vehicles, and <br />WHEREAS, it is Council's determination to regulate said <br />motorcycles for the benefit of the motorcycle riders and for the immediate <br />protection of the public health and safety of the citizens of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio. <br />Section 1: That Sections 375.01, 375.02 of Chapter 375, <br />Title Nine of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Olmsted be and <br />the same are hereby repealed effective with the effective date of this <br />ordf nance . <br />Section 2: That Sections 375.01 to 375.13 are hereby added <br />to chapter 375, Title Nine of the Traffic Code (Codified Ordinances) of the <br />City of North Olmsted, Chapter 375 shall be known as Motorcycle <br />Section 375.01 Motorcycle defined <br />A motorcycle is hereby defined as set forth in Section 301.16 <br />and reading as follows: <br />"Motorcycle shall be mean every motor vehicle other than a <br />tractor having a saddle for the use of the operator and designed <br />to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground. " <br />Section 375.02 Effect of Regulations <br />These regulations (applicable to hotorcycles) shall apply when- <br />ever a motorcycle is operated upon any street, parking lot, or <br />public area within the City of North Olmsted. <br />Sectio 375.03 Statutes of Ohio and Traffic Code Application <br />Every person riding a rcycle upon a street shall be granted <br />all the rights and shall be subject to all the duties applicable <br />to the driver of a vehicle by the laws of this site, or by the <br />Traffic Ordinances of this City, applicable to a driver of a vehicle, <br />in addition to special regulations contained in this Ordinance <br />and except as to those provisions of Iaw and Ordinances which <br />by their nature can have no application. <br /> <br />
