1 <br />.• <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 65 - ~ .~ <br />BY_~ ~ ~ <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 313.03 <br />OF THE NORTH OLMSTED TRAFFIC CODE, ENTITLED <br />"TRAFFIC- CONTROL SIGNAL TERMS AND LIGHTS, " <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, <br />~' WHEREAS, Council has determined that it is to the best interes~: <br />of the City of North Olmsted that the Traffic Code be reviewed to eliminate any <br />conflicts with provisions of the State Uniform Traffic Act. <br />NOYJ-i, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED '~y the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That Section 313.03 of the North Olmsted Traffic <br />Code, reading as follows: <br />"313.03 TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL TERMS AND LIGHTS. <br />Whenever traffic is controlled by traffic cantral signals exhibiting <br />the words "go" , "caution" , or "stop" , or exhibiting different <br />colored lights successively one at a time, or controlled with <br />arrows, the following colors only shall be used and .the terms ~:n.d <br />lights shall indicate and apply to operators of vehicles and <br />pedestrians as follows: <br />(a) Green alone or "go" signal: <br /> {1) Pedestrians facing the signal may proceed across <br /> the roadway within any marked or unmarked crosswalk; <br /> (2) All other traffic facing the signal except as provided. <br /> under Section 331.09 may proceed straight throucih o <br /> turn right or left, unless a sign at such place prohibits <br /> either such turn. But suer, traffic shall yield the rigz~r <br /> of way to vehicles lawfully within the intersection gin- <br /> to pedestrians lawfully within a crosswall: at the ~i~r <br /> such signal is exhibited. <br />(b) Yellow alone or "caution" when shown follenn~ine~ ther~er: <br />~~~ <br /> or "go" Signal• <br /> (1) No pedestrian facing such signal shall enter the <br /> roadway; <br /> (2) All other traffic facing the signal is warned that the <br /> red or "stop" signal will be exhibited immediately there--~ <br /> after, and that pedestrians proceeding in accordar~c;e gitl- <br /> traffic control signals shall have the right of way, <br />(c) <br />~ Yellow alone or "caution" when shown followin~th~ ~~ <br />` or "stop" signal• <br /> (1) Pedestrians facing the signal may pro.^eed a~:ro:~s th=v <br /> roadway within any marked or unmarked crosswal <br /> (2) All other traffic facing the signal shall stop a:~ca ~~ha1A <br /> remain standing until the green or "go" signal is sh.~vyn a?,ta <br />(d1 Red alone or "stop" signal: <br /> (l) No pedestrian facing such signal shall e~°-ter ~ l-~e <br /> roadway; <br /> (2) All other traffic facing the signal shall stop-ue*cc~r <br /> entering +_he intersection and shall. remain stan~~i~z~~ ~~a~~~ ~~. <br /> authorized to proceed by a traffi{~: con~:rol device. <br />
