" be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 2: That effective May 1 , 1965 , the base salaries of members of the Fire Department are hereby fixed and determined to be as follows: Fire Chief $ 7, 800.00 annually Assistant Fire Chief 7, 400.00 annually Fire Lieutenant 6 , 900.00 annually Firemen far First year 5 , 500.00 annually Firemen for Second Year 5 , 900.00 annually Part-time Firemen 1.75 per hour which salaries shall be payable by the Director of Finance semi-monthly. Full time employees of the Fire Department having completed five years of full time continuous service as employees of said department shall be paid an additional 39b of their base annual salary thereafter until completion of the tenth year of continuous full time service , after which such enoloyees shall receive 496 of their base annual salary thereafter until the completion of the 15th year of continuous full time service, and thereafter 59'0 of their base annual salary until after the completion of the 20th year of continuous full time service and during each year of full time service thereafter they shall receive 6% of their base annual salary as longevity increments. In computing length of service for the purpose of making pay- ments of the longevity increments hereinabove set forth, no credit shall be given for part-time service but such limitation is only for the purpose of computing longevity increments and the exclusion for part-time service shall not deprive service as employees of either Safety Department.
