CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 66- a~ 7~ PAGE 2 Section 3: The Engineer or any of his employees shall not engage in any engineering services for private developers who are developing areas in the City of North Olmsted or any areas which abut the areas of the City of North Olmsted or who have just completed developing areas in the City of North Olmsted within a period of one (1) year from the date said engineer ssvers services with the City of North Olmstea, unless said engineer receives permission, in writing, from a committee composed of the Mayor, President of Council, Director of 1='inance, Directar of Public Service and Public Safety and the Director of Law. Said committee shall act upan any request to perform the prohibitive services within 30 days after receiving a written request from the engineer. ' Section 4: That this Ordinance is hereby determined to be an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the City by virtue of the necessity of making said position and salary effective January 1, 1966. W'rIEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law . " n ~J be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: WHEREAS, on December 21, 1965 , the Council of the City of North Olmsted created a division of engineering within the Department of Public Service to be headed by a City Engineer; and U WHEREAS, Council now wishes to establish the annual salary and duties of the City Engineer; and WHEREAS, these duties and salary shall amend Ordinance No. 66-1 enacted January ~, 1966, which ordinance amended Ordinance No. 65-318, which created the position of City Engineer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: Section 1: That this Council does hereby establish a Division of Engineering, within the Department of Public Service which shall be headed by a City Engineer, who is a Civil Engineer, registered as a professional Engineer in the State of Ohio, whose duties shall be: a. Give advice to Council, Mayor, Planning Commission and other city administration officials on all problems pertaining to engineering, zoning, building, sewers, development and repair of property in the City of North Olmsted, including, but not limited to the streets therein. b. Attend all Council and Planning Commission meetings and when requested committee meetings and conferences, etc . c. Deliver to Gouncil periodic reports or reports as requested on progress of improvements under his charge. d. Prepare and update all city zoning and street maps. e.
