Ordinance No, 777 By Mr, Baumgardner AN ORDINANCE PROTESTING THE CONTINUANCE OF "CLCSED COURSE" AIRCRAFT RACING AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE SOLICITOR TO SEEK A PERMANENT RESTRAINING ORDER FROM THE PROPER COURT, SHOULD THE AIR RACE CO181ITTEE REFUSE TO COMPLY. WHEREAS this Council wishes to go on record as express- ing its horror and dismay because of continued permission to allow "closed course" air racing; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of North Olmsted, State.of Ohio: Section 1. That the Village of North Olmsted does her file its vigorous protest against the permission by any body or board to allow "closed course" air racing. Section 2. That the Council of the Village of North Olmsted does hereby empower and direct the President of. Council and the Mayor to inquire into the matter., confer with other councils and township trustees and other neces- sary bodies and report back their findings as soon as possible. Section 3. That the Soli.citor,shall he decide no other adequate remedy is available, be and he is hereby empowered and directed to bring proper court action to prevent "closed course" air racing. Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, necessary for the immediate pre - servation of the public peace, safety and welfare, and shall, therefore, take effect.and be in force from and after the date of its passage.
