Ordinance No. 855 - By Dr. Lewis <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />REGULATING HUNTING IN THE VILLAGE, OF NORTH OT14ST ;D. <br />U rv) <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of North Olmsted, <br />State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That no person shall hunt, pursue or kill with a <br />gun any wild bird or wild animal in the Village of North Olmsted without <br />first obtaining a permit from the Police Department. <br />.Section 2. Hunting permits shall be issued by the Police Department <br />upon application which shall state the applicant's name, address, age and such <br />other information as the Police Department may require. <br />Section 3. At the time a permit is issued, the Village shall fur - <br />nish the permit holder with a tag or badge to be worn on the back of the <br />hunter designating that he holds a permit for hunting, which badge and permit <br />shall be returned to the Village when the permit expires. <br />Section 4. Permits to the residents and non - resident owners of proper- <br />ty in the Village of North Olmsted shall be issued free and for the season. <br />Section 5. Permits issued to persons who are neither property owners <br />nor residents of the Village of North Olmsted shall be for use on one day only, <br />the date to be stated in the permit, and not more than twenty -five such permits <br />shall be issued on any one day. <br />Section 6. No permits to hunt shall be issued to persons who are <br />neither property owners nor residents of the Village of North Olmsted for the <br />first two days of the pheasant hunting season. <br />Section 70 Applicants for permits who are not residents or property <br />owners in the Village of rdorth Olmsted shall make a deposit of 01.50 at the time <br />the permit is issued, $1.00 of which shall be refunded when the badge or tag is <br />returned, which badge or tag shall be returned on the day on which it is issued <br />and if not returned on the day it is issued, then the Village shall retain the <br />$1.00, the 00.50, being retained for issuing the permit. <br />Section 8. No permit shall be issued to a non - resident applicant un- <br />less he produces a hunting license and his application is signed by a resident <br />of the Village and said resident shall sponsor only one hunter per day, and if <br />the applicant has obtained a badge or tag on a previous application, he must <br />have returned the badge on the day issued, otherwise no permit shall be issued. <br />Section 9. No hunting shall be permitted in areas posted as Game <br />Sanctuaries, nor within five hundred (500) feet of any building, <br />Section 10. The Mayor may appoint not to exceed twenty persons as <br />special deputy marshals to act as game wardens during the hunting season, who <br />shall serve without pay. <br />Section 11. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordi- <br />nance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall <br />be fined not to exceed $25.00. <br />Section 12. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure, the emergency being that it is necessary for the immediate preservation <br />of public health, safety, peace and welfare that this ordinance be passed at once <br />and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. <br />Passed: November,7, 1950. <br />to <br />. rL. rs er - • - - `7 <br />i <br />rarence att, Mayor - <br />
