Resolution No. 1526 <br />z By Mr. <br />A RESOLUTION' <br />RE"WESTING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC UTILITIES OF THE CITY OF CLEVELAND <br />AND THE COUNCIL.OF THE CITY OF CLEVELAND.TO RESTRICT.AND,LIMIT THE <br />USAGE • 0:1, WATER ON THE WEST SIDE OF CLEVELAND DURING. THE HOURS FROM <br />4 :00,; O'CLOCK UNTIL 9 :30 P.M. SO AS TO PROVIDE A MINIMUM AMOUNT <br />OF WATER FOR USAGE IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH OLMSTED AND TO PREVENT <br />FIRE HAZARD. <br />WHEREAS the City of Cleveland under contract and franchise <br />furnishes water to the Village or North.-Olmsted, and during the <br />summer months the Village of North 0imsted is completely without <br />3 water from about * 4 :00 o'clock in the afternoon until about 9 :30 <br />o'clock at night; and <br />WHEREAS this lack of water has created dangerous fire <br />hazards within the Village of North Olmsted and prevents the normal <br />course of living in respect to dish washing, bathing, and any use <br />Of water whatsoever during that period,and I <br />WHEREAS this condition if permitted to continue is a threat <br />to the property and health of the citizens of North Olmsted, Ohio, and, <br />WHEREAS this condition could be relieved in part'and the <br />hazard lessened by enforced restrictions limiting the consumption <br />Of water on the west side of Cleveland during the period from A :00 P.M. <br />until 9 :30 P.M. and especially prohibited by an enforced prohibition <br />Of lawn sprinkling during said hours; and <br />WHEREAS this condition will continue to exist until the <br />consumption and completion of the water improvement now in progress, <br />and <br />WHEREAS it is the belief and feeling of the citizens of <br />North Olmsted that the City of Cleveland should be and is willing <br />to share its water and reduce its non - essential use of the same; <br />► now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of North <br />Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1, That Emil Crown, Director of Utilities of the <br />City of Cleveland and the Council of the City,.of Cleveland be re <br />quested to institute appropriate action to the end that lawn sprinkling <br />In the westerly half of the City of Cleveland be restricted and <br />eliminated between -4 :00 and 9 :30 P.M. during the remainder of the <br />summer months. <br />Section 2. That a copy of this resolution be certified <br />by the Clerk to the Mayor, Director of Utilities and Council of the <br />City of Cleveland. <br />Section 3.
