Resolution No. 1526 z By Mr. A RESOLUTION' RE"WESTING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC UTILITIES OF THE CITY OF CLEVELAND AND THE COUNCIL.OF THE CITY OF CLEVELAND.TO RESTRICT.AND,LIMIT THE USAGE • 0:1, WATER ON THE WEST SIDE OF CLEVELAND DURING. THE HOURS FROM 4 :00,; O'CLOCK UNTIL 9 :30 P.M. SO AS TO PROVIDE A MINIMUM AMOUNT OF WATER FOR USAGE IN THE VILLAGE OF NORTH OLMSTED AND TO PREVENT FIRE HAZARD. WHEREAS the City of Cleveland under contract and franchise furnishes water to the Village or North.-Olmsted, and during the summer months the Village of North 0imsted is completely without 3 water from about * 4 :00 o'clock in the afternoon until about 9 :30 o'clock at night; and WHEREAS this lack of water has created dangerous fire hazards within the Village of North Olmsted and prevents the normal course of living in respect to dish washing, bathing, and any use Of water whatsoever during that period,and I WHEREAS this condition if permitted to continue is a threat to the property and health of the citizens of North Olmsted, Ohio, and, WHEREAS this condition could be relieved in part'and the hazard lessened by enforced restrictions limiting the consumption Of water on the west side of Cleveland during the period from A :00 P.M. until 9 :30 P.M. and especially prohibited by an enforced prohibition Of lawn sprinkling during said hours; and WHEREAS this condition will continue to exist until the consumption and completion of the water improvement now in progress, and WHEREAS it is the belief and feeling of the citizens of North Olmsted that the City of Cleveland should be and is willing to share its water and reduce its non - essential use of the same; ► now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: Section 1, That Emil Crown, Director of Utilities of the City of Cleveland and the Council of the City,.of Cleveland be re quested to institute appropriate action to the end that lawn sprinkling In the westerly half of the City of Cleveland be restricted and eliminated between -4 :00 and 9 :30 P.M. during the remainder of the summer months. Section 2. That a copy of this resolution be certified by the Clerk to the Mayor, Director of Utilities and Council of the City of Cleveland. Section 3. That this is an emergency resolution, the emergency being that it is necessary for the immediate preservation Of public health, safety and welfare that this resolution be passed at once and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
