Resolution No. By Mr, A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMAISSIONERS OF CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND THE DIVISION OF HIGHVIAYS.OF.THE STATE OF OHIO TO PROCEED WITH.THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BRIDGE OVER THE ROCKY RIVER VALLEY. NORTH OF THE PRESENT BRIDGE. OF THE NEW. YORK,. CHICAGO & ST. LOUIS RAILIVAY. , WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahoga County, Division of Highways, State of Ohio, and the Federal Government determined to proceed with the con- struction of a new bridge across Rocky River Valley north' of the present bridge of the New York, Chicago & St. Louis .Railway Company in the year 1941 as a necessary highway improvement connecting the City of Rocky River and the City of Lakewood, and for the elimination of the traffic hazard existing at that time occasioned by the Highway Routes•Nos. 20, 6 and 2, and WHEREAS, said determination was the result of several years of traffic study and the passage of a bond issue by the citizens of Cuyahoga County to cover the cost of said construction along with other projects of importance in the County of Cuyahoga, and WHEREAS; the citizens of Cuyahoga County approved said bond issue and that all other of said projects included, therein have been constructed or are under construction, and I- IMEREAS, the traffic condition has been steadily becoming more hazardous since the year 1941 and has now pro - gressed to the.point where present facilities are totally inadequate to carry said traffic; and it is becoming increasingly,_ more hazardous to the life, limb and property, of persons while in lawful use of said highways; and it is impossible for the Safety Division of the City of Lakewood and the City of Rocky River to longer cope with the situation-in the case of emergency for the daily operation of their departments; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of North Olmsted,.Cuyahoga County, Ohio: Section 1. That the Board of County Commissioners and the Division of Highways of the State of Ohio be and they are hereby requested to take whatever steps are necessary to provide a bridge across Rock y River Valley connecting the City of Lakewood and the City of Rocky River as set forth in the preamble hereof. Section 20 This resolution is of great importance to the entire system of highways along the north shore of Lake Erie between the City of Cleveland and the City of Toledo, . Ohio, in order-that a normal flow,of traffic may continue to l+ use Routes 20 6 and 20 as presently located. Section 3.
