-2- October 3, 1950 <br />Mr. Baumgardner reported that there would,be a meeting of the Transportation <br />Committee on Thursday night -- that a new driver would have to be'employed as <br />one of our drivers was leaving October 8th to go into the Service. He said the <br />Globe ticket matter would be discussed at that time. He also reported that <br />40 North Olmsted children and 50 to 60 Fairview children went into Cleveland <br />to school. <br />Mr. Hatton reported that the Planning Comrnission held a meeting on September 26p <br />1950 at which time the following matters were discussed: <br />Dividing parcel on r4cKenzie Road, owned by Miss F1,orence E. Crider, <br />112t wide x 4851 deep, in to two 56, lots. <br />Petition received from residents ofRoot Road requesting change in <br />zoning to permit multiple residences. <br />Request of Messrs, Burrell and Stiop to build a 20 a 20 bulb house <br />on Butternut Ridge Road. <br />The Planning Coaunission recommended the refusal of all the above-mentioned <br />requests. It wa.s moved and seconded that the recommendations of the Plarni.ns <br />Commission be accepted. "Yeas'' Baumgaxdner, Hatton, Lewiss Soott. <br />Mr. Kramer is now present. <br />Mr. Reinhart complained regarding cleaning the ditch on his property in 13oot <br />Road. The Mayor advised that the ditch was there when he purchased the <br />property, and the only way to close it up would be for Mr. Reinhart to furnish <br />the tile and the Village would lay it for him. The matter was referred to the <br />Engineer. <br />Don Joecken and Mr. Forrest of Andrua 4venue asked for permission to have <br />garages three feet Prom the lot line instead of five feet, as required by <br />our Zoning Ordinance. <br />It was anved and seconded that an exception be made on the east side of Andrus <br />Avenue, to have garaoes three feet Pron the lot line instead of five feet. <br />"Yeas" Bawngardner, Hatton, Kramer, Lewis, Scott. <br />Mr. Kleimn of Andrus Avenue inquired what l.ind of a road they wnuld have on <br />Andrus Avenue after the rvnrk was completed. He was informed that it would be a <br />slag road -- that tree lawns wrould be dressed up and that the propertp owners <br />would have to biy drive-way pipes. <br />Mr. Earl G. Tiaothy wanted to know why he coul.dn't get a permit to build in <br />Garden City when they were building on Sublots 18 and 19. It was e.xplained <br />to him that it was up to the County Board of Health to issue perni.ts for septic <br />tanks first. <br />Ordinance No. 849 was introduced by Dr. Lewis. An Ordinance amending Ordinance <br />#845 passed on August 29, 19502 by addi,ng a new section, 4(a), providing for the <br />transportat.faiof elementary and high school children riding into the City of <br />Cleveland, and returns at a rate of fare of one-half of that provided by <br />Ordinance #$45. It was moved and seconded that the statutory rule be suspended <br />and the Ordinance be read immediately the second and third times and put on its <br />passage. The affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Baumgardner, <br />Hatton, Kramer, Lewis;• Scott. Thereupon the Ordinance was read the second and <br />third times and put upon its passage, and the affirmative vnta thereon was as <br />followss Baungardner, Hatton, Kramer, Lewis, Baott. ' <br />It was moved and seconded that Charles Smith paint the Fire Station and seal <br />coat the garage. "Yeas" Baumgardner, Hatton, Kraraer, Lewis, Scott. <br />There being no ob3ection to the change in zoning on the Bowen property located <br />on the northeast corner of Clague and Lorain N,oad, Ordinance #840 was read the <br />third time and on the adoption the following voted "yea" Bawn?;ardner, Hatton, <br />Kramer, Lewis, Scott. <br />The Mayor appointed Mrs. Robert McMullen, Chairman and rirs.
