<br />Resolution'#1670 was introduced by Nir. Kranler. 4 N,esolution accepting
<br />the bid of Cooper Construction Company for the installation of a water
<br />rnain in Gladland Avenue, f rom Elm Road to the riortherly end. It was moved
<br />and seconded that the statutory rule be suspended and t he Resolution be read
<br />immediately the second and third times and put`on its passage. The affirma.-
<br />tive vote on`said motion was as follows: Baum;ardner, Hatton, Kramer, Lewis,
<br />Paddock, Scott. Thereupon the Resolution was read the second and third ti.mes

<br />The Building Commissioner advised the Council that due to the higher cost of
<br />electrical permits,`it automatically increased the fees of the Electrical
<br />Inspector, and recommended that some action be taken to correct this.
<br />Ordi.nance #$46 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. An Ordinance to provide for the
<br />issuing of notes in anticipation of the levy of special assessments and in
<br />antieipation of the issuing of bonds in anticipation of the collection of '
<br />special assessments for the improvement of c ertain streets therein named by
<br />constructing therein water main. It was moved and seconded that the statutory
<br />ru7.e be suspended and.the Ordinance be read immediately the second and third
<br />times and put on its passage. The affirrnative vote on said wtion was as

<br />The I4ayor read three petitions signed by about 300 people requesting that
<br />the Bus Zine extend its service into Lorain County, on Chestnut hidge,
<br />Lorain Koad and Sugar Ridge.
<br />The Mayor read a communication from the Ohio State Safety Conference regard-
<br />ing meeting to be held in Cleveland September 19., 20, and 21, 1950.
<br />Mr. Batum,ardner read a corrnnunication from the Re;ional Planning Commission
<br />requestino that communities adopt the uniform building code.
<br />Ordinance #$29 was given its second reading.
<br />Ordinance #840 was given its second reading.
<br />A petition was received from r esidents on Root Road, requesting the Council
<br />to r ezone Root Road to permit multiple residences. The Mayor referred the
<br />matter to the Planning Commission. _
