i Public Hearing on Or3. #2205
11 1-55
Darian Smith, 4294 Mart3n Drive .
Representing Board of Education. Read resolution passed by Board of Education
in favor of rezoning for shopping center.
Robert Van Houten, 5076 Whitethorne Ave.
Tn Favor of a shopping center. Not in agreement with allrndng driving on West
Park Drive. •
Martha Hutchison, 5596 Bums Rd. In favor of outlets other than on West Park Dr3ve.
Has Mr. Biekind been approached on other entrances other than on West Park Arive?
Mr. Baumgardner advised that this is a public dedicated road - dedicated right to
the fence.
E. J. Hopple, 5225 East Parls Drive. I have had severa1 meotings with Council and
Mr. Biskind. The one thing I would like to try to clear up on the original meeting
held four.weeks aga, at which t3me a statement was made, there would be no entrances
or exits on West Park Drive. The situation has become more and more confusing -
even to a Cyclone type fence to run the length of Weyt Park Drive with exits and
entrances off the park area. We are not opposed to a shopping''center. This is the
land of milk and honey. We feel that there should not be any ontrances or exits
on West Park Drive.
Harvey S. Levys 5029 East Park Drive,
I feel as Hopple does about the shoppin$ center. I feel that we should shut off
West Park Drive. "
Paul C. Huber. 5149 E. Park Drive
It would be possible to put up popcorn stands, gasoline stations and any other kind
of business along West Park Drive. It 3eems to me that you wculd want to protect
your own property and keep tr.at kind of business aVray fran tha.t pa,rticular street,
especially in view of the fact that ytxx have a swinuning pool proposition coming up.
Steven Calmer, 4429 Root Rd. r1r. Smith has expressed my views. I think that the
people should have f aith in Council such as the faith they have in the Board of
Education. It is quite their duty to do wh3t they think be5t for the majority of the
people, and I E,m qu3te sure that the Pla,nning CoQnmission in considering the rezoning
oP the property has considered pop--corn stands, gas stations, etc. along Wegt Park
Drive. - :
Bert Plain, 26900 Lorain Rd. Live 1/4 mile away. Thought I was buying residential
property - badly nistaken. Not against progresa. 1r7ho is going to pay for operation
of the sewer plant. Is it going to be a nuisance-to residents? Furthermore, under-
stAnd there is going to be scme apartment buildings. Mr. Smith's own figures
contradict themselves.
Ftitz Klein, 3017$ Lorain Road.
We need the shopping center. We cannot stand still. We need money in North Olmsted.
We have a new fire engine. We have to have schools. I am in faeor of the 9hopping
center for NOrth Olmsted.
Walter Myers, 51+$1 Fitch Rd. Need a shopping center, but donTt believe we should
pick a choice spot like the park. Think we should eliminate driveways into West
Park Drive. Also need an Ordinance to force building to,landscape along the fence. -Kasezman, 23900 Lorain Rd.
Nobody wanted the water tower, but wanted water. ftezoning along Brookpark Road -
nobody wanted that. If this builder has faith.enough in North Olmsted to invest
two million doZlars or whatever amount it is, 1et him pick out location - more power
to him. _
Wm. F. Andret,?s, 31060 Lorain Rd." ; .
Favor location because it is centrally located. Everybody says not on ny property -
Put it on the man's next door. I think location of shopping center should stap,
i3Qa1 location - central part of tawn. Most people can get to it.
Robert Hunter - 26561 Butternut Ridge Rd.
Think we should have a shopping center, but there is the safety factor. I think
most iinportant thing is safety for our children. Council will undoubtedZy have
same way to keep traffic off road. If builder cannct raise this much money, even
though rezoned for a shopping center, then is there asafe-guard against this?
