aUNF, zl, 1955. <br />MTNUTES OF A MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NC1ftTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />Present were'Dr. C. B. Lewis, Mayor, E. W. Baimigardner, President of Councils <br />L. H. Baker, Harry M. Criderp ft. L. Declcer, R. G. Knapp, William H. Kramer, <br />R.'G. Neubauer, G. H. Sclzwenk. . <br />? <br />A motion was made b,y Mr. Crider and seconded by Mr. Neubauer that the minutes of <br />Jung 7s 1955 be approved as read, "Yeas" Haker., Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer., <br />Neubauers Schwenk. <br />A letter was read from the Planning Ccanmission in which they recoanmended that the <br />back acreage of property owned by John Olah, at 24131 Lorain Road, consisting of <br />23 acres, be rezoned Yrom a multiple Residence District to a Retail Business <br />District. <br />: A motion was made by Mr. Baker and seconded by Mr. Schwenk that the Service <br />Director'be instructed to advertise the'above change in zoning. "Yeas" Baker, <br />Crider., Decker, Rnapp, Kramer..'Neubauer, Schwenk. <br />. A coanmunication was read fram the Planning Ccawnission in which they recammended the <br />rezoning of property on both sides of Dover Center Road., the west side of the street <br />ta 9.nclude the Sherwin -lJilliams and'Kennedy properties'. and the east side of the <br />street to include that land originally owned by John and Conrad Loser, fraa resider- <br />tial to retail business. A motion was made.by Mr. Crider'and seconded by.Mr. Neubauer instructing the <br />Service Director to advertise the above change in zoning. "Yeas" Baker, Crider., <br />Decker, Knapp, Kramer, Neubauer, Schwenk. <br />The Planning Commission recommended to Council that a study be made of possible <br />playground areas and suitable areas be purchased for such use. The matter was re- <br />ferred to the Properties'and-Finance Caamnittees. <br />Mr. Kramers'Chairman of the Finance Comunittee.. reported that the Camnittee recoan- <br />mended 5% salary increases for various city employes, • <br />Ordinance #214$ was introduced by Mr.`Kramer. An.Ordinance amending 4rdinance <br />#1938 entitled "An Ordinance detertnining salaries., wages and bonds of appointed <br />officials and employees of the City of North Olmsted." It was moved and seconded <br />that the statutory rule be suspended'a.nd the Ordinance be read immediately the <br />secoxui and third times and put on its passage. The aYfixmative vote on sa3d motion <br />was as follaws: Bakers Criders Decker, Knapp, Kramer., Neubauer, Schwenk. There- <br />upon the Ordinance was read the second and third t3raes and put upon its passage <br />and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Baker, Crider., Deckers Knapp, <br />Kramer, Neubauerp Schwenk. <br />. The Finance Comn,ittee recaamaended an additional fireman and an additional` police- <br />man and ' the purchase of radar equiFxnent, `. and the Safety Comnittee ` recommended " that <br />Council approve that action. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Schwenk and seconded by Mr. Crider suthorizing the Safety- 3ervice Director to put on one additional policeman and one additional fireman. <br />? "Yeas" Baker., Crider, Decker, Knapp., Kramer., Neubauers So 'hwenk. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Schwenk and seconded by Mr. Deckers authorizing the Safety-' <br />Service Directcr to purchase radar equipnent for the Palice Department. "Yeas'r <br />8aker, Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramers Neubauer.,;Schwenk. <br />Ordinance #2149 was introduced by 2ir, Crider. An Ordinance to make additional , <br />appropriations for current expenses:and other expenditures of the City of North <br />41msted., Ohio dur3ng the fiscal year ending Decanber 31s 1955. It was moved and <br />seconded that the statutory rule be suspended and the 4rdinance be read 3mmediately <br />.the second and third times and put on its passage. The afYirmative vote on said <br />motion was as followss Baker,,Crider., Deckers Knapp, Krazner? Neubauer,'Schwenk.` <br />Thereupon the Ordinance was read the second and third times and *t upon its passage <br />and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Baker, Criderp Decker,, Knapp, " <br />Kramers Neubauer, Schwenk.
