<br />kINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CQUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />NOilTH OLMSTED, OHIO `
<br />Present were Dr. C. B. I,ewis; Mayor, E. W. -Baumgardner, • President of Council,
<br />. L. H. Baker, Harry M. Cridex,'R. L. Decker,, R. G. Knapp, William H. Kramer,
<br />R. G. Neubauer, G. H. Schwenk.
<br />A motion was made by rir. : Kramer and seconded by Mr. • Baker that the minutes' of
<br />February l, 1955 be approved as read. ;"Yeas" Baker., Crider., Decker, Knapp,
<br />Kramer, Neubauer, Schwenk." '
<br />The Mayor read a connnunication Prom the Planning Con¢nission recoAnnending that
<br />the Bily Plat on Stearns Road showing five"76 foot lots and one irregularJ,q
<br />shaped lot with 13$`foot frontage, be approved. No bonds being necessary
<br />because they front on an existing street. Moved,by Mr.'Baker., seconded by
<br />Mr. Schwenk that the Bily Plat on Stearns Road be approved. "Yeas" Baker,
<br />: Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer, Neubauer,:Schwenk.
<br />The 14ayor read a comrnunication, fran the Planning Coruuission recottmending the
<br />approval of the North Olmsted Estates, Inc. Plat.
<br />Ordinanco #20$9 was introduced by Mr. Baker. An 4rdinance approving the plat
<br />oP the North Olmsted Estates; Inc. It was moved and seconded that the
<br />statutory rule be suspended and the Ordinance be read immediately the second
<br />and third timss and put on--its passage. The-affirmative vote on said motion
<br />was as follows: Baker, Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer, Neubauer,`Schwenk. Thereupon the Ordinance was read the second and third times and put upon its passage and the affirinative vote'thereon was as follows: Baker, Crider, Decker,
<br />KnapP, Kramer, Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />Moved by Neubauer, seconded by Kramer that the bonds of the North Olmsted '
<br />Estates, Inc., by the Aetna Casualty & Surety Co., in the amount of-062,000.00
<br />be approved. "Yeas" Baker,v.Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer, Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />Mr. Kramer, Chairman oF the Finance Committee, stated that it was a recommenda=
<br />tion of the Finance Committee that no'increase be given to the Secretary of the
<br />Civil Service Comnission at this time.. 2'he matter of a caution light at'ELn and Columbia Roads was referred to the
<br />Safety Committee. ,
<br />Mr. Crider read the report of the Health Department`for the month of December
<br />and the year of 1951+• , . ..
<br />The Mayor read the resignation oY Theodore De Werth as Civil Defense Diroctor.
<br />Moved by Mr. Decker and seconded by,Mr.'Neubauer the above resignation be'
<br />accepted. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker., Knapp, Kramer,, Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />The Mayor advised that he appointed Willi,am Andrews as'Civil Defense Director.
<br />Moved by Mr. Neubauer and seconded by Mr. Crider the above appointment be' ,
<br />approved. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kraraer, Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />The Mayor advised that Edward Bittel resigned fram the Planning Comn.i.ssion.
<br />Moved by Mr: Kramer and seconded by Mr. Schwenk that Mr.-Hi,ttel's resigzation
<br />-be accepted. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer, Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />The Mayox advised that he appointed Mr. Mark Hannan to the Planning Commissiun
<br />to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Bittel. Moved by Mr. Neubauer and seconded by Mr. Decker tha above appointment be'
<br />approved. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker,.Knapp, Kramer, Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />The Mayor advised that the Sun Oil Companq has agreed to move their bill-
<br />board back at least five feet. '
