<br />` MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE COL%TCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />NORTH OTII.STED, OHIO
<br />Present were Dr. C. B. Lewis, Mayor, E. W. Baumgardner, President of Council,
<br />L. H. Bakera Harry M. Crider, R. L. Decker, William H. Kramer, Bruce ZdacDonald;
<br />R. G. Neubauer, G. H. Schwenk.
<br />A1so present were.F. G. Kitson, Solicitor, Jarges F. Votava, Safety-Service
<br />D3.rector, Everett Dean, Engineer, E. M. Christman, Clerk.
<br />A motion was ma:de by Mr. Kramer and seconded by Mr. Schwenk that the minutes of
<br />Februai-y 5, 1957 be approved as corrected. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Krame:,
<br />MacDonald., Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />The Safety-Service Director read a communication from the Gounty Commissioners,
<br />with which was enclosed a copy of Resolution adopted by the Board of County
<br />Commissioners ?'Authorizinb the County Engineer to rent the County Dragline to
<br />the City of North Olmsted when available."
<br />A communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending to Citp Council
<br />that the city hold ten feet of the 201 strip for the Trdhitethorne right-of-way, and
<br />let the Standard Oil Companp uss the remaining 101.on a loan basis, said loan to be
<br />terniinated at any time by the City by giving The Standard Oil Co. a 30-dsy notice.
<br />All improvements on the property at such time would be removed at the expense of /
<br />The?Staridard Oil Co. In addition, in exchange for the use of this 101 strip, The ?
<br />Standard Oil Compa.?r should deed to the city 15.38 feet of frontage to a depth
<br />of 10t of their.property fronting on ldhitethorne at the rear of The Standard Oil
<br />Co. proPerty. 'The Planning Corunission further recommended,that steps be taken
<br />to obtain land ?on the rer.aining east-t•:est portion of VIhitethorne., eo the right-of-
<br />'?IaY can be a minimum of 501 wide along the street's entire length.?
<br />The Law Director stated that everything should be held in abeyance with Standard
<br />.ou until we get the deed. `
<br />A motion was made by P<ir.;Crider and seconded by tir. Baker that the Safetv-Service
<br />Director be authorized ta advertise for bids on a road stripa.ng machine. "Yeas"
<br />: Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer, hiacDonald, Neubauer, SchVrenk.
<br />A group of citizens were present in connection with the proposed rezoning for
<br />light industry.
<br />Mr, George Sherwood of Flehearty Rd* complained about the 12" tile that needs clean-
<br />ing• The matter was referred to the Service Director.
<br />The Mayor read a comrnunication from the County Library in co:uiection with a new
<br />library building for the City of North Olmsted.
<br />A motion was made by rir. Baker and seconded by Mr. Decker,that we enter into a
<br />mutual, aid contract with the t'illage of T,vTestlake for the interchange of services
<br />Of the police Department. "Yeas" Baker Crider, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald,
<br />Neubauer, SchFrenk.
<br />The ?,aw Director reported that there is r.o Ordinance or Resolution makino it com-
<br />? Pulsory for bus drivers to go to Drs. Castle, Ramsey, Castle & Associates for their
<br />Physical examinations, but that the Civil Service Comnission can say what doctors . to go to.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Neubauer and seconded bf Mr. Schwenk that the Solicitor
<br />dra,,r legislation requiri.ng Bus Drivers to go to Drs.__Castle, Ramsey, Caytle and ?
<br />Associates for their physical examinations. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer,

<br />Ordi,na,nce #2446 was introduced by Mr. Crider. An Ordinance requiring the property
<br />°wner or occupant to keep sidewalks free and clear of snow. It was moved and seconded
<br />that ths statutory rule be suspended and the Ordinance be read immediately the second
<br />'and third ti,mes and put on its passalge., The vote on said motion was as follows:
<br />-"Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, MacDonald, Neubauer. "Nays" Kraraer, Schwenk.
