<br />MINUTES OF A N'iEETING OF THE C OtJNC IL CfF THE C ITY OF
<br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO
<br />Present were Dr. C. B. Lewis, Mayor, E. W. Bawngardner,, President of Council,
<br />L. H. Baker, Harry M. Crider, R. L. Decker, William H. Kramer, Bruce W. MacDonald,
<br />R. G. Neubauer, G. H. Schwenk.
<br />Also present were F. G. Kitson, Solicitor, James F. Votava, Safety-Servico
<br />Director, Everett Dean, Engineerg E. ri, Christman, Clerk, was absent.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Kramer arxi secorxled by Mr. Decker that the minutes of
<br />October 16, 1956 be approved as read. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer,
<br />MacDonald, Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Neubauer and seconded by Mr. MacDonald that the minutes
<br />of October 23, 1956 be approved as read. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer,
<br />MacDonald,$ Neubauers Schwenk.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Aecker and, seconded by Mr. Schwenk that the minutes oS
<br />October 30, 1956 be approved as read. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer,
<br />MacDonald, Neubauer., Schwenk.
<br />The Safety-Service Director appointe3 tiaalter F. Wi113a,ms as School Guard,
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Neubauer and secorsied by Mr. MacDonald that the above
<br />appointment be approved. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker., Kramer, MacDonald,
<br />Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Baker and seconded by Mr. Neubauer that the bonci of
<br />Monsor-Williams Corp. in the amount of $12,,500.00 by the Great American Indemnity
<br />Ccmpany for paving and sidewalks in Sweetbriar Sub-Division, be approved. "Yeas'r
<br />Baker, Crider, Decker,,.Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer, Schwenk. .
<br />Mr. Decker, Chairman of the,Safety Committee read a letter froa Coe School PTA
<br />in which they requested"that the use of B B Guns`be outlawed.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Decker and seconied by Mr. Kramer that the Law Director
<br />be instructed t o draw an Ordinance prohibiting the use of B B Guns, Pellet Guns
<br />and Sling Shots within the City of North 0]'msted. "Yeas" Baker, Crider., Decker.,
<br />• Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Decker arid 'secorxled by Mr. Kramer instnict3ng`the .
<br />Safety-Service Director to request a list fran the Civil Service Camanission, so
<br />that three additional'firemen may be added as of November 16,, 1956. "Yeas"
<br />Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Decker and seconded by l1r. MacDonald authorizing the
<br />Safety-Service Director to request a list from the Civil Service Cceanission so
<br />that three more firemen may be added to the Fire Department by the first of the
<br />year. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer,, Schwenk.
<br />Mr. Crider referred to the list oi streets where s3dewalks are recar.mnendgd, arxi
<br />corrected South Barton Road to read "from Lorain 8oad to the sauth city limits,
<br />both sides." ..
<br />Ordinance #2386 was introduced by Mr. Crider. An Ordinance providing for super-
<br />vision of sidewalk construction by property owners. It was moved and secorxied
<br />that the' statutory rule be'suspended aryi the Ordinance be read imnediately the
<br />second and third timsa and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said .
<br />motion was as follows: Baker, Crider,, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer,
<br />Schwenk. Thereupon the`Urdinance was read the second ard third.times and put
<br />upon its passage and the affirmative vote"thereon was as follaws: `Baker, Crider,
<br />Decker, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer., Schwenk.
<br />The Engineer and Safety-Service D3.rector will meet with Mr. Beriuska azri make
<br />recommendations to h3m in regard to the driveways that must be fixed on Ranch-
<br />view Avemie.
