<br />Amotion was made by Mr. Schxrenk and secarxied by Mr. Neubauer that the minutes

<br />The Safety-Service Director appointed Jamss Ke1Zey arxi Jacob J. Mitlor as part-time
<br />Street`Inspectors.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Schwenk and secorxied by Mr. Kramer.. that the ubave appoint-
<br />fients be approved. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Kramer, MacLonald, Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />The Safety-Service Director appointed Pobert Gil,christ as Foreman in the Sarvice
<br />Department.

<br />The Safety-Service Director stated that we are work3.ng with the PUCO and vill have
<br />th@m out herQ chedting truck traffic through the City of North Olmsted to see how
<br />much of this traffic can be rereuted over other rcutes, rather than Routs 10.
<br />There is very little truck traffic on Datroit Road and Center Ridge Road. Trucks
<br />ara scheduled to go over certain routes, ani the PUCO has an idea that soma trucka
<br />may be using Route 10, contrary to their instructions.
<br />, Resolution #2364 was 3ntrod.uced by Mr. Kraraer. A Resolution requesting the Stats
<br />- to repave Lorain Roa,d in 1957 within the City of North Olmsted. It was moved and :
<br />seconded that the statutory rule bs susperried and the Resolutibn be read imnediate-
<br />1y the secozxl and third times arid: put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said
<br />motian waa as follows: Baker, 6rider, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer, . Schwenk.
<br />Thereupon the Resolution was read the secorid and third tima3 and put upon its pas-
<br />8age and the affirmative vote thereon wa$ as follovrs: Bakers Crider, Kramer,

<br />. The Clerk read a comnunication f"ram Raymond M. Walsh., 25770 Water Street, 4lmsted
<br />Fallg, 4hio in which he recgzegted increased bus service.for the 0].mstad Fall.s areR.
<br />The matter was referred to the Safety.Service Director and to Mr. Best.
<br />Mr. Neubauer, Chaiman of Transportation, stated that meetings were held on
<br />September llth and 13th. On the llth, ; the matter of iricreased; reveriue was discussed,
<br />also drivers' 3ncrease. Figures were received fran Mr. Best show3.ng that there were .
<br />'100,00p riders per month -- 25,000 were school children, leavinb 75,OOO adults, 15%
<br />1 of which are lxal riders -- balance 63,750. i--'-, If fares were raised to 35? in .
<br />Fairview axxl to 400 in the zone frm the County Line to Clague ftd. to the downtown
<br />ter'minal, and the 63,750 riders were main line commuters and we did ? not lose ary
<br />ridex's, we could inerease our revenue close to $38,000,00 per year. This is the
<br />recoamnendation tY:e camnittee wnuld like to make. The Transportation Cammittes,will,
<br />Meet with the Fairv3ew Transportation Carnnittes and will +„ry ta negotiate for a
<br />fare increase.
<br />A mation was made by Mr. Schwenk arXi seconded by Mr. MacDanald that the Transporta-
<br />tion Conunittee negotiate to raise bus fareg to 35¢ in Fa3rview and to `40¢ for t2ie

<br />The Transportation Ccmmittee recomnended to Crnincil that the Service Director pro-
<br />ceed with plans for the enlar;enent of the present municipal Bus Garage with the
<br />thought in mind of maving all operati ons from the` Town . Ha1.1 ?to the ' other buildingp k'1th adequate rest room3 . axxl bu11 pen for drivers.
