<br />On September 13th,, the Transportation Ccanmittee met with the Bus Drivers. The
<br />dr3.vers wero 3rfozmed that the Camnittee wa,s going to reccmmend an increase in
<br />revenue to Council. They were also told that while there was nothing de1'inite,"
<br />it did not seem as though it would be possible to give them 15¢ an hour increase,
<br />Mr. Decker, Chai.rman of the Safety Cmrnittee, reparted that the canmittee had met p
<br />to study the bicycle ordinance. The reconmendation of the Safety Ccrmittee is
<br />that the ordinan,ce now in effect is a good ons. One change tha.t might be naxie
<br />is to reverss the order'of the third nzle under Section 2, naking it read=
<br />Ride on the sidewal.ks when theq are available and not crawded with pedes-
<br />trians; when crowded with pedestrians then you may ride in the street.

<br />The Safety Comunittee felt if the Police Department wauld pick up a few bicycle
<br />riders who were in violation of the ardinance., it would help make bicycle riding
<br />a lot safer.
<br />Mr. Crider, ChaiYman of the Ccaunittee on streets, sewers, sidewalks axxi ditches,
<br />reported that they plan to make a survey of the antire city on s3dewalks., so that
<br />Wh°n Spring comes., the program can get under way. The subject of whether or not
<br />residents should be permitted to put in their own sidewalks was discussed. The
<br />matter was referred to the Lair Director to detenaine whether it would be legal
<br />to atop anyone. The matter of how the inspection and : engI.neering, coEts should be
<br />handled was also discussed. The Engineer stated that Rocky River has;an orl.inance -
<br />their residents must pay for 3nspection and engineer3ng. Westlake bills for
<br />inspection but furnishes engineering.

<br />The Planning Ccmmiss.ton recommended that the plat ot` LeBern Development #2 be approved for subdivisian and recording purposes only.
<br />Ordinance #2365 was introduced by Mr. Crider. An Ordinance accepting plat.oP
