IIAY 21, 1957 - Page 2 : _ . <br />A, delegation of citizens from South Clague.Road stated that due to the new <br />4211 water line being installed their drives were blocked, sewers were <br />plugged, sidewa,lks were impassable, trees were damaged and that the school bus <br />? could not get through. They were assured that the broken sidewalks would <br />be replaced and the street be put in as good condition as it was before <br />the project was started. They were advised that this water line was being <br />installed by the City of Cleveland, that it is a major project and must <br />be completed. Also we have a full time inspector on the 3ob to look <br />out for the Property Owners and City interests. <br />Mr. Baumgardner stated.that he would call the City ti•later Departmentp and <br />see the Contractor personally about showing more consideration for the <br />residerits. <br />Mr. Kramer is now present. : <br />Mr. Baumgardner stated that the 14a.yor on three different occasions had ; <br />tried to ses Mr. Stevens at the Village Garage but could not contact him. <br />The matter of (No Parking) on W. 231st Street from Lorai.n Road to the <br />curve was discussed and referred to the Safety Committee for recomnendation. <br />A request was read from Pi.rs. Ruth Klee for a leave of absence for three <br />months effective I4ay 16, 1957 due to her illness. <br />A motion was made by 14r. Schwenk, seconded by Mr. Kramer., that a three. <br />month leave of absence be granted Ruth Klee starta.ng May 16, 1957• "Yeas" <br />Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer, Neubauer, Schwenk. <br />Mr. Baumgardner read a communication from the City Ylater Department stating <br />they cou7.d not pap a North Olmsted City Inspector. There being no water <br />line on Canterbury Road South of Butternut that perrnission to install <br />one could not be granted at this time because of no sewers. The matter <br />was referred to the Safety Com??nittee. <br />Mr. Ba.uc*igardner read a cornmunication written by the Mayor, to the Carney <br />Boys, requesting them to put in a base for Mildred Avenue or we would <br />notify their bonding company to do so. • <br />; <br />Mr. Baumgardner read-a comraunication from F1oyd Browne and Associates that : <br />Mr. Kitson had OK'd the plans, specification and advertisement for bids <br />being talcen for Test Borings for Sewers on May 31, 1957. ' <br />r <br />Mr. Baumgardner read a communication from the Safety-Service Director of <br />Rocky River stati.ng that Bay Village refused to sign the contract for the <br />Teletype System and the Bay Village portion of the cost would have to be <br />spread over the other municipalities supporting the system. The contract <br />would be for two years from June lst. The matter was referred to the <br />Safety Committee. <br />Resolution 1`do. 24$5 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. ti Resolution Allowing <br />payment for killing of Chickens by dogs. (Schemrich). It was moved and <br />seconded that the statutory rule be suspended and the Resolution be read <br />imrnediately the second and third times and put on its passage. The affirna- <br />tive vote on said motion vras as follows: Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer., <br />Neubauer, SchVrenk. Thereupon the Resalution was read the second and third <br />tiraes and put upon its passage a.r:d the affirmative vote thereon was as <br />follows: BakQr, Crider, Decker, Kramer., Neubauer, SchVrenk. <br />Resolution No. ?J+S6 was introduced by Mr. Crider. A Resolution Allowing <br />payment for killing of chickens by dogs. (Nagy). It was moved and seconded <br />that the statutory rule be suspended and the Resolution be read 'u;mediately <br />the second and third ti.mes and put on its passage. The Affirmative vote . <br />on said motion was as follows: Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer., Neubauer, <br />Schwenk. Thereupon the Resolution was read the second and third times <br />and put upon its passage and the affis7native vote thereon was as follows: <br />Baker, Crider, Decker, Kra.mer, Neubauer, Schwenk. <br />The Engineers Estimates were read showing the cost of Root Road Sidewalks <br />$20,5$0.00 or $3.9091per footz InJhitethorn Avenue $7,744.00 or 04.292 per <br />foot; Fitch Road 030,$60.00 or $3.7415 per foot.
