IIAY 21, 1957 - Page 2 : _ . A, delegation of citizens from South Clague.Road stated that due to the new 4211 water line being installed their drives were blocked, sewers were plugged, sidewa,lks were impassable, trees were damaged and that the school bus ? could not get through. They were assured that the broken sidewalks would be replaced and the street be put in as good condition as it was before the project was started. They were advised that this water line was being installed by the City of Cleveland, that it is a major project and must be completed. Also we have a full time inspector on the 3ob to look out for the Property Owners and City interests. Mr. Baumgardner stated.that he would call the City ti•later Departmentp and see the Contractor personally about showing more consideration for the residerits. Mr. Kramer is now present. : Mr. Baumgardner stated that the 14a.yor on three different occasions had ; tried to ses Mr. Stevens at the Village Garage but could not contact him. The matter of (No Parking) on W. 231st Street from Lorai.n Road to the curve was discussed and referred to the Safety Committee for recomnendation. A request was read from Pi.rs. Ruth Klee for a leave of absence for three months effective I4ay 16, 1957 due to her illness. A motion was made by 14r. Schwenk, seconded by Mr. Kramer., that a three. month leave of absence be granted Ruth Klee starta.ng May 16, 1957• "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer, Neubauer, Schwenk. Mr. Baumgardner read a communication from the City Ylater Department stating they cou7.d not pap a North Olmsted City Inspector. There being no water line on Canterbury Road South of Butternut that perrnission to install one could not be granted at this time because of no sewers. The matter was referred to the Safety Com??nittee. Mr. Ba.uc*igardner read a cornmunication written by the Mayor, to the Carney Boys, requesting them to put in a base for Mildred Avenue or we would notify their bonding company to do so. • ; Mr. Baumgardner read-a comraunication from F1oyd Browne and Associates that : Mr. Kitson had OK'd the plans, specification and advertisement for bids being talcen for Test Borings for Sewers on May 31, 1957. ' r Mr. Baumgardner read a communication from the Safety-Service Director of Rocky River stati.ng that Bay Village refused to sign the contract for the Teletype System and the Bay Village portion of the cost would have to be spread over the other municipalities supporting the system. The contract would be for two years from June lst. The matter was referred to the Safety Committee. Resolution 1`do. 24$5 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. ti Resolution Allowing payment for killing of Chickens by dogs. (Schemrich). It was moved and seconded that the statutory rule be suspended and the Resolution be read imrnediately the second and third times and put on its passage. The affirna- tive vote on said motion vras as follows: Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer., Neubauer, SchVrenk. Thereupon the Resalution was read the second and third tiraes and put upon its passage a.r:d the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: BakQr, Crider, Decker, Kramer., Neubauer, SchVrenk. Resolution No. ?J+S6 was introduced by Mr. Crider. A Resolution Allowing payment for killing of chickens by dogs. (Nagy). It was moved and seconded that the statutory rule be suspended and the Resolution be read 'u;mediately the second and third ti.mes and put on its passage. The Affirmative vote . on said motion was as follows: Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer., Neubauer, Schwenk. Thereupon the Resolution was read the second and third times and put upon its passage and the affis7native vote thereon was as follows: Baker, Crider, Decker, Kra.mer, Neubauer, Schwenk. The Engineers Estimates were read showing the cost of Root Road Sidewalks $20,5$0.00 or $3.9091per footz InJhitethorn Avenue $7,744.00 or 04.292 per foot; Fitch Road 030,$60.00 or $3.7415 per foot.
