11AY 21, 1957 <br />NiINUTES OF A ISETING OF TM QDUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />Present were E. W. Baumgardner, President of Council? L. H. Baker, Harry <br />M. Crider, R. L. Decker, W. H. Kramer, R. G. Neubauer, G. H. Schwenk. <br />Absent were Dr. C. B. Lewi.s, Mayor, Bruce A4acDonald. <br />Also present were F. G. Ititson, Solicitor, J?.mes F. Votava, Safety-Service <br />Director, Everett Dean, Engineer, E. M. Christman, Clerk. <br />In the absence af Ma.yor Lewis, Iqr. Baumgardner took the chair and I4r. Decker <br />presided at the meeting. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Baker, seconded by hir. Neubauer, that the minutes of <br />biay $., 1957 be approved as read. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Neubauer, , <br />Schwenk. <br />A communicatian was read from the Planning Commission recomending your <br />consideration and approval, Articles XI and XII of Ordinance No. 2145 as <br />recommended by the Ci.tizens Committee with the deletion of the second <br />sentence of Section 4- Board of Review because it is not believed to <br />be enforceable by law. <br />The deleted sentence 3xt reference reads, -- No building permit <br />sha11 be issued for the construction of a building in a style or with <br />materials in consistent vrith the style and materials of other proposed or <br />existing buildings within such Limited Industrial District. <br />The communication was tabled. <br />The Safety-Service Director advised that we no longer have a dog catcher <br />and that one of our policemen had offered to act as dog catcher when not <br />on duty. The matter was referred to the Solicitor. <br />The Safety-Service Director advised that Russell Reitz had been granted a <br />D-3 permit. Under this permit they can sell Liquor to the Public. This <br />Permit should not have been granted. They should have applied for a D-4 <br />Permit which is permissable for a Country Club where they sell to members <br />Only. This iy adding a non=conforming use in a Residential Area. The <br />inatter was referred-to-the Counci.l as a whole on Tuesday May 28, 1957. <br />Mx'. Decker reported the Safety Committee had a meeting with the Finance <br />Commi.ttee to discuss pay raises for Police and Firemen. <br />Neubauer reported the Transportation Committee had a meeting on the <br />16th: ot Ala,y to consider the purchase of two new buses. Mr. Best was to . <br />make a study on the Fitch Road run also of buses leaving the termi.nal. <br />Mr. Decker stated the Safety Committee met with the Chief of Police to consider Pin Ball Machi.nes and recommended that we do away with Pin Ball <br />Machines. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Crider, seconded by Mr. Schwenk, that the Solieitor <br />draw an Ordinance banning Pin Ba.11 Machines in the City of North Olmsted. <br />"Yeast, Baker, Crider, Decker, Neubauer, Schwenk. <br />Mr. Neubauer stated that the Cleveland Electric I1luminating Co, survey <br />on street lights was about ready. - <br />Mr. Crider reported that the Sewer Committee, minus Mr. Schwenk, met with <br />the Safety-Service Director and Everett Dean to consider the matter of <br />getting a county Sewer District of the Sherman Wolf - Sunrise Development Co. <br />and the Olmsted Farms. Before any action can be taken some legal questions - <br />ha.ve to be answered. <br />The matter of broken sidewalks on Clague Road at Ambour Drive, was discussed; <br />The developer being present, stated that the East Ohio Gas Co. had broken most <br />of it and that he would see to it personal.l.y that the sidewalks would be <br />repaired. <br />Mr. Schwenk reported that the Tree Flanting Program cannot be carried out <br />on account of bad weather.
