Council Minutes of 01-07-2014 Councilman Kearney, Chairman of the Finance Committee: The Finance Committee met Tuesday January 7, 2014 at 7:15 p.m. Present were committee members Kearney, Schumann and Barker; Council President Jones; Council members Brossard, Hemann and Limpert; and Finance Director Copfer. • Discussed was Ordinance 2013-115 which is a Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with Cintas Corporation to provide uniform rental services to the city's Service Department employees, and declaring an emergency. Cintas' bid was well below the other bids that were submitted. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend Ordinance 2013-115. Councilman Brossard, Chairman of the Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee: The Recreation Committee met Tuesday January 7, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Present were committee members Brossard, Kearney and Schumann; Council President Jones; Council members Barker, Hemann and Limpert; Mayor Kennedy and Law Director Gareau. • Discussed was Ordinance 2013-112 which is an Ordinance authorizing the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to enter into a two-year agreement with A & J Distribution in order to provide for vending and video game machines at the North Olmsted Recreation Center, and declaring an emergency. The Mayor indicated that newspaper ads were placed on November 4 and November 11 which resulted in three requests being sent out. Of the 3, one did not submit a bid and another vendor did not submit the bid in the proper format. The bid from A & J was accepted. The commission levels are the same as the prior vendor and the contract includes maintenance of all machines. Councilman Brossard made a motion to recommend approval of Ordinance 2013-112 which was seconded by Councilman Schumann, and the vote was 3-0 to recommend approval of Ordinance 2013-112 AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION No comments. LEGISLATION Ordinance 2013-112 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading.
