MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> MARCH 18, 2014 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Hemann, Kearney, <br /> Limpert and Williamson <br /> Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br /> Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Glauner, Director of <br /> Planning/Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver. <br /> Absent: Councilman Brossard <br /> Councilman Schumann <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The Council meeting minutes of February 18, 2014 were approved as written. <br /> Councilwoman Hemann made a motion to amend the agenda to remove Resolution 2014- <br /> 18 and be placed back into committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br /> Limpert and passed unanimously. Agenda amended to remove Resolution 2014-18 and <br /> be placed back into the Intra-Governmental Relations committee approved 5-0. <br /> The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br /> this evening: First Reading—Resolution 2014-21. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • He swore in new Fire Fighter Lieutenant Brian Shlapack. Fire Chief Ed Schepp <br /> commended Lieutenant Shlapack and thanked the Mayor, Council, <br /> Administration and Director Glauner for their support. Lieutenant Shlapack <br /> thanked everyone as well, and he and the fire department appreciates everyone's <br /> support. He thanked his wife for her support. <br /> Director of Law Gareau: <br /> • Regarding Lydia Thomas vs. Thomas Herbster and the City of North Olmsted, an <br /> accident concerning a city employee operating a city snow plow truck; this case <br /> should be dismissed and settled any day now. This was handled by the city's <br /> insurance defense counsel. <br /> Director of Finance Copfer: <br /> • No report. <br />
