MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MARCH 18, 2014 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert and Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Glauner, Director of Planning/Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver. Absent: Councilman Brossard Councilman Schumann Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of February 18, 2014 were approved as written. Councilwoman Hemann made a motion to amend the agenda to remove Resolution 2014- 18 and be placed back into committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Agenda amended to remove Resolution 2014-18 and be placed back into the Intra-Governmental Relations committee approved 5-0. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: First Reading—Resolution 2014-21. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • He swore in new Fire Fighter Lieutenant Brian Shlapack. Fire Chief Ed Schepp commended Lieutenant Shlapack and thanked the Mayor, Council, Administration and Director Glauner for their support. Lieutenant Shlapack thanked everyone as well, and he and the fire department appreciates everyone's support. He thanked his wife for her support. Director of Law Gareau: • Regarding Lydia Thomas vs. Thomas Herbster and the City of North Olmsted, an accident concerning a city employee operating a city snow plow truck; this case should be dismissed and settled any day now. This was handled by the city's insurance defense counsel. Director of Finance Copfer: • No report.
