Council Minutes of 03-18-2014
going to take a Ford frame and mount that tree unit on top of it. Lambert said he
cautioned Council before about selling the $10,000 truck. It could have been dismantled
and the dump could have been sold. You're looking at $150,000 and he bets the first
$100,000 is for the truck itself— the frame that was let go for $10,000. These are things
that should be looked at very closely by the Finance Committee. Councilman Kearney
said that there's no way a Ford F150 truck costs $100,000. Councilman Barker said he is
willing to be dollars to donuts that the truck for $10,000 from the WWTP was probably
on its last leg and wouldn't be salvageable to do anything. Lambert said since Barker
bets dollars to dimes (Barker clarified it was donuts) and never asked a specific question
as to the condition of the truck, he doesn't know and voted anyway. Barker said for
$10,000 it couldn't have been worth crap. Mayor Kennedy explained that the Fleet
Manager looks at these vehicles and if the city is selling them, he's sure the vehicles lived
a couple lives. Gareau clarified that the truck is a Ford F750.
Councilman Barker moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman
Kearney and passed unanimously. Resolution 2014-21 adopted 5-0.
Resolution 2014-22 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A
Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the award
of a contract to provide construction services for the Windsor Drive Culvert Replacement
Project, as detailed in the specifications on file with the Engineer, and authorizing the
Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the
lowest and best bidder.
Ordinance 2014-23 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An
Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other
expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2014, and
declaring an emergency.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
Councilman Kearney scheduled a Finance Committee meeting for Tuesday March 25,
2014 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Ordinance 2014-23. The Finance Director is asked to attend.
Councilman Kearney scheduled a Recreation Committee meeting for Tuesday March 25,
2014 at 7:10 p.m. to discuss Resolution 2014-20. The Planning/Development Director is
asked to attend.
Councilwoman Williamson scheduled a Streets & Transportation Committee meeting for
Tuesday March 25, 2014 at 7:20 p.m. to discuss Resolution 2014-22.
