MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> MARCH 4, 2014 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, <br /> Limpert, Schumann and Williamson <br /> Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br /> Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Glauner and Director <br /> of Planning/Development Wenger <br /> Absent: Council Member Hemann <br /> Director of Human Resources Farver <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The Council meeting minutes of January 21, 2014 and February 4, 2014 were approved <br /> as written. <br /> The following legislation will be co-side.ed for passage under suspension of the rules <br /> this evening: First Reading—Resole'ion 2014-19. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • There was a shooting today in the parking lot of Home Depot by Great Northern <br /> Mall. The suspect is in custody, and more information will be released in the near <br /> future. <br /> • The Mayor's annual Business Mc.e± and Greet will be held Thursday March 13, <br /> 2014 at Springvale Clubhouse between 5pm and 7pm. City Council members and <br /> the North Olmsted business commwirty are encouraged to attend. <br /> • Dan Russell has been hired in the .r)i_vision of Building as the new Assistant <br /> Building Commissioner. Dan, a North Olmsted native, previously served in the <br /> Building Departments of Olmsted Falls and Lakewood. He will begin work in <br /> North Olmsted on March 10, 2014. <br /> • The city has been awarded the 2014 Community Recycling Grant through <br /> Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Management District in the amount of $5,000. <br /> The grant will be used to purchase waste bags and a citywide service mailer to <br /> residents. <br /> • Officer Jack Justice was involved in a serious car accident over the weekend. His <br /> condition has been upgraded from critical to serious. There will be an account set <br /> up at a financial institution for donations for the officer and his family. <br />
