MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MARCH 4, 2014 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, Limpert, Schumann and Williamson Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Glauner and Director of Planning/Development Wenger Absent: Council Member Hemann Director of Human Resources Farver Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of January 21, 2014 and February 4, 2014 were approved as written. The following legislation will be co-side.ed for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: First Reading—Resole'ion 2014-19. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • There was a shooting today in the parking lot of Home Depot by Great Northern Mall. The suspect is in custody, and more information will be released in the near future. • The Mayor's annual Business Mc.e± and Greet will be held Thursday March 13, 2014 at Springvale Clubhouse between 5pm and 7pm. City Council members and the North Olmsted business commwirty are encouraged to attend. • Dan Russell has been hired in the .r)i_vision of Building as the new Assistant Building Commissioner. Dan, a North Olmsted native, previously served in the Building Departments of Olmsted Falls and Lakewood. He will begin work in North Olmsted on March 10, 2014. • The city has been awarded the 2014 Community Recycling Grant through Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Management District in the amount of $5,000. The grant will be used to purchase waste bags and a citywide service mailer to residents. • Officer Jack Justice was involved in a serious car accident over the weekend. His condition has been upgraded from critical to serious. There will be an account set up at a financial institution for donations for the officer and his family.
