MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> OCTOBER 15, 2013 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, <br /> Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson and Smith <br /> Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br /> Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Thomas, Director of <br /> Planning/Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The Council meeting minutes of September 3, 2013 were approved as written. <br /> The following legislation will be passed under suspension of the rules this evening: <br /> Second Reading — Resolution 2013-87, Ordinance 2013-88, & Ordinance 2013-89; First <br /> Reading— Resolution 2013-94. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • The Foreign Exchange students from Dusseldorf, Germany were here today for a <br /> tour of City Hall and the Mayor's Office. <br /> • Retirement party for Rex Saringer (Police Dog) on Tuesday October 29, 2013 at <br /> 12:15 p.m. at the North Olmsted Community Cabin. Coffee and desserts will be <br /> served. <br /> • A check for $2,880 was donated by the Knights of Columbus. Every year they <br /> make a donation which is earmarked for programs/assistance for children with <br /> developmental disabilities. <br /> • The members of the FD are observing National Breast Cancer Awareness Month <br /> by wearing pink uniforms for the month of October. The new Squad 51 is almost <br /> ready. The committee will travel to the factory to inspect the new medical unit <br /> during the week of October 21, 2013. <br /> Director of Law Gareau: <br /> • He recognized and welcomed two St. Ignatius students in the audience. <br /> • Stephanie Landgraf will be leaving the Law Dept. She has taken the Bar Exam <br /> and will find out the results in a couple of weeks. Andrew Fleck will be replacing <br /> her. He also happens to be a Westlake Police officer who is attending law school <br /> as well. <br /> Director of Finance Copfer: <br /> Nary <br />
