MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> •tiaw NOVEMBER 19, 2013 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Kearney, <br /> Orlowski, Schumann, Williamson and Smith <br /> Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br /> Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Thomas, Director of <br /> Planning/Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The Council meeting minutes of October 1, 2013 were approved as written. <br /> The following legislation will be passed under suspension of the rules this evening: <br /> Second Reading -- Ordinance 2013-95 and Resolution 2013-104; First Reading — <br /> Resolution 2013-103 and Resolution 2013-105. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • The Mayor swore in new Police Officer, James Kaminski, Jr. <br /> • The VFW Police Officer and Firefighter of the year dinner is tomorrow night at <br /> 7:00 p.m. at the Community Cabin. <br /> • The City's Thanksgiving Community Meal for the less fortunate is Wednesday <br /> November 27, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. at Springvale Ballroom. The city is still in need <br /> of financial donations and volunteers. Please contact Secretaries Coletta Strippy <br /> or Annie Kilbane if you are interested in helping out. <br /> • Consultant proposals for the 2015 Master Plan Update are due by Friday <br /> November 22, 2013. Proposals will be reviewed, ranked and top firms selected <br /> for interviews. The selection will be made by the end of 2013. <br /> • In the Fire Dept. New Squad 51 has arrived and should be in service by the end of <br /> the month. Fire training, in conjunction with Tri-C, has begun at houses on <br /> Lorain Road across from Soccerplex. Work has begun on application for <br /> Assistance to Firefighters Grant program and the exam for Lieutenant has been <br /> posted. <br /> • Scott Thomas, Director of Safety and Service, will be leaving the city in two <br /> weeks. The Mayor thanked him for his service to the community. <br /> Director of Law Gareau: <br /> • He had indicated some time ago that the city had an appeal on a traffic case by <br /> Mr. Theodore Keller who was convicted in Rocky River. He appealed to the 8`�' <br />
