Council Minutes of 12-03-2013 <br /> Director of Law Gareau: <br /> • No report. <br /> Director of Finance Copfer: <br /> • The Finance Dept. has been busy ensuring that 2013 ends with no budget <br /> violations. They have begun to work on the 2014 appropriations with the Mayor <br /> and his Administration. <br /> • They developed the process of testing salary projections through Munis. This will <br /> alleviate a lot of manual calculation and manipulation of wages and benefits for <br /> each division in the city. <br /> • The Bond anticipation Notes before Council this evening are for the Recreation <br /> Center improvements and a street culvert. No monies are being borrowed to do <br /> street improvements, so the only monies there are for the culvert. <br /> • She thanked part-time employee, Diana Balasko, for donating a Christmas tree to <br /> display in the City Hall lobby. She thanked her Secretary, Donna Murphy, for <br /> decorating the tree and lobby. <br /> Council President Jones, Chairwoman of the Committee of the Whole: <br /> The Committee of the Whole met Tuesday December 3, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss <br /> temporary committee vacancy assignments as Councilman Limpert was sworn in last <br /> week and needed to be assigned to committees. Present were Council members Barker, <br /> Brossard, Kearney, Limpert, Orlowski and Schumann; Council President Jones; <br /> Councilwoman-Elect Hemann and guests. A motion was made by Councilman Barker to <br /> assign Councilman Limpert to the committee assignments held by former Councilman <br /> Smith. The motion was seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed 6-0. <br /> Councilman Limpert will now serve as Chairman of the BZD Committee, Vice-Chairman <br /> of the Public Safety Committee and on the Environmental Control Committee. The <br /> meeting was adjourned at 6:59 p.m. <br /> Council President Jones read an affidavit for Councilman Limpert (attached). <br /> Councilman Barker, Chairman of the Finance Committee: <br /> The Finance Committee met on Tuesday November 26, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Present were <br /> committee members Barker and Kearney; Council President Jones; Council members <br /> Brossard, Limpert, Orlowski and Williamson; Finance Director Copfer. <br /> • Discussed was Ordinance 2013-102 which is an Ordinance to make <br /> appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the City of North <br /> Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2014, and declaring an emergency. <br /> (Worksheet is attached). The committee voted 2-0 to recommend approval of <br /> Ordinance 2013-102. The meeting was adjourned at 7:09 p.m. <br /> Councilman Barker took a moment of personal privilege to announce that the next <br /> NOCCA meeting will be Thursday December 5, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites <br /> in Independence. The discussion will cover the best practices for sharing city services <br /> throughout Cuyahoga County. <br /> 2 <br />
