Council Minutes of 03 -25 -2014 <br />Councilwoman Hemann made a motion to suspend the rule requiring three readings. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously. Councilwoman <br />Hemann moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and <br />passed unanimously. Resolution 2014 -18 adopted 7 -0. <br />Resolution 2014 -20 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Planning and Development to advertise for bids <br />for the award of a contract to provide construction services for the North Olmsted Senior <br />Center Patio Project, and authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of <br />Control, to contract for the same with the lowest and best bidder. <br />Resolution 2014 -22 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the award <br />of a contract to provide construction services for the Windsor Drive Culvert Replacement <br />Project, as detailed in the specifications on file with the Engineer, and authorizing the <br />Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the <br />lowest and best bidder. <br />Resolution 2014 -24 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman Barker. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety on behalf of the city to apply for an <br />Assistance to Firefighters Grant for the purpose of obtaining funds to acquire thirty -five <br />Self Contained Breathing Apparatus ( "SCBA ") units, together with 2 bottles, face masks <br />and voice amplifiers; further authorizing the Mayor, if the application is granted, to enter <br />into an agreement with the appropriate agency to accept said grant funds, and declaring <br />an emergency. Councilman Barker made a motion to suspend the rules requiring three <br />readings and formal committee review as the grant deadline is approaching. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Councilman <br />Barker moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson <br />and passed unanimously. Councilman Barker said any opportunity the city can have to <br />get over $340,000 from the federal government with a $35,000 investment, he will <br />suspend the rules for this every time.
