Council Minutes of 03 -25 -2014 <br />will provide some shelter and will be constructed with brick piers, shingles and <br />trim to match the existing building. Access and egress improvements will be <br />made from the Senior Center, and the new space will be used by seniors and park <br />patrons alike. Estimated construction cost is $100,000, and the funds will come <br />from the land acquisition building improvement fund. Councilman Brossard <br />made a motion to recommend approval of Resolution 2014 -20. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Kearney, and the committee voted 3 -0 to recommend <br />approval of Resolution 2014 -20. <br />Councilwoman Williamson, Chairwoman of the Streets & Transportation Committee: <br />The Streets & Transportation Committee met Tuesday March 25, 2014 at 7:20 p.m. <br />Present were committee members Williamson, Hemann & Limpert; Council President <br />Jones; Council members Barker, Brossard, Kearney & Schumann; Law Director Gareau, <br />Finance Director Copfer, Safety /Service Director Glauner, Human Resources Director <br />Farver, Planning /Development Director Wenger and guests. <br />• Discussed was Resolution 2014 -22 which is a Resolution authorizing the Director <br />of Public Service to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide <br />construction services for the Windsor Drive Culvert Replacement Project, as <br />detailed in the specifications on file with the Engineer, and authorizing the Mayor, <br />following approval of the Board of Control, to contract for the same with the <br />lowest and best bidder. Director Glauner stated that these improvements are <br />necessary for the Windsor Drive culvert due to its deteriorating condition. The <br />culvert improvements had been budgeted for earlier this year. The committee <br />voted 3 -0 to recommend approval of Resolution 2014 -22. The meeting was <br />adjourned at 7:23 p.m. <br />Councilwoman Hemann, Chairwoman of the Intra- Governmental Relations Committee: <br />The Intra- Governmental Relations Committee met Tuesday March 25, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. <br />Present were committee members Hemann, Limpert & Kearney; Council President Jones; <br />Council members Barker, Brossard, Schumann & Williamson; Finance Director Copfer, <br />Safety /Service Director Glauner, Ass't Law Director Heyward and guests. <br />• Discussed was Resolution 2014 -18 which is a Resolution proclaiming April as <br />Fair Housing Month in the City of North Olmsted, Ohio, and declaring an <br />emergency. Ass't Director of Law, Carole Heyward, presented information <br />regarding fair housing in North Olmsted. She stated that traditionally, fair <br />housing month is always in April throughout the country since its inception. In <br />2005, the City of North Olmsted became certified by HUD and received grant <br />money after that to investigate fair housing complaints and to provide educational <br />resources. The committee voted 3 -0 to recommend approval of Resolution 2014- <br />18 with suspension. The meeting was adjourned at 7:34 p.m. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution 2014 -18 introduced by Mayor Kennedy on behalf of himself and the entire <br />city Council was given its second reading.
