MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED APRIL 1, 2014 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert and Schumann Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety /Service Glauner, Director of Planning /Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver. Absent: Councilwoman Williamson Director of Law Gareau Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: First Reading — Resolution 2014 -26. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • The North Olmsted Arts Commission will host the Mayor's Art Show opening Wednesday April 2, 2014 from 6pm until 8pm. Artwork from North Olmsted High School students has been selected and is displayed throughout City Hall during the entire month of April. The public is welcome to join the city and school officials at the gallery opening. • Complementary yard waste bags are available in the Service Dept. Each resident is allowed up to five bags. • The Civil Service Commission approved a schedule for an entry level firefighters test beginning March 23, 2014 and concludes with results on June 16, 2014. Once established, the list will be good for two years. • And patrol officer, Carol Wilson, will be retiring on April 5, 2014. She was hired on August 29, 1994 as a dispatcher and a police officer in 1996. She was employed by the city for 19 years. He appreciates her service to the community.
