Council Minutes of 04 -15 -2014 <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance 2014 -23 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2014, and <br />declaring an emergency. Councilman Kearney moved for adoption. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Schumann and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2014 -23 <br />adopted 7 -0. <br />Resolution 2014 -25 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for the <br />purchase of bulk treated rock salt for ice and snow removal operations as detailed in <br />specifications on file and further authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with the <br />lowest and best bidder, after Board of Control approval. <br />Ordinance 2014 -27 introduced by Mayor Kennedy was given its second reading. An <br />Ordinance accepting a deed from Dale Fowles, Executor of the estates of Arthur O. <br />Fowles and Jean Fowles, both deceased, donating land to the City of North Olmsted. <br />Ordinance 2014 -28 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance amending the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to provide for <br />the removal of all overhead turning lane signage and simultaneous replacement of same <br />with roadside pole signage on Lorain Road in the City of North Olmsted and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />Resolution 2014 -29 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to <br />purchase and install exercise equipment at the North Olmsted Recreation Center in order <br />to provide exercise facilities for the new fitness area and authorizing the Mayor, <br />following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and <br />best bidder, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Brossard made a motion to <br />suspend the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review as this was <br />discussed during Caucus. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and <br />passed unanimously. Councilman Brossard moved for adoption. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Resolution 2014 -29 <br />adopted 7 -0. <br />Ordinance 2014 -30 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. An <br />Ordinance amending the rates of compensation for various administrative and legislative <br />personnel for the year 2014 to increase the salary range for support personnel (part - <br />time /seasonal) for Human Resources, Office of the Director and Division of Information <br />Technology, and Department of Planning and Development, Office of the Director and <br />Division of Building (Sections 5A, 513, 6A and 613) for 2014; and to otherwise restate the <br />compensation rates and descriptions for various administrative and legislative personnel <br />for the year 2014, and declaring an emergency. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />E <br />
