Council Minutes of 05 -20 -2014 <br />of the city, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Barker made a motion to suspend <br />the rules requiring three readings and formal committee review as this was discussed in <br />Caucus and will help the city receive funding to replace bullet proof vests. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. Councilman <br />Barker moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson <br />and passed unanimously. Resolution 2014 -39 adopted 6 -0. <br />Resolution 2014 -40 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to accept a donation of labor and equipment from <br />Franciscus Incorporated to replace the roof on the crypt at the Butternut Ridge Cemetery, <br />and declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution 2014 -41 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the North Olmsted City <br />School District to provide for funding of the School Resource Officer (SRO) for fiscal <br />year 2014 -15. <br />Resolution 2014 -42 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor Kennedy. A <br />Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to apply for, and for the Mayor to <br />accept on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, funding from the United States <br />Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, "COPS" Hiring <br />Program Grant; further authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the <br />appropriate federal agency to accept funding on behalf of the city, and declaring an <br />emergency. Councilman Barker made a motion to suspend the rule requiring three <br />readings as this is a timing issue. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman <br />Williamson and passed unanimously. Councilman Barker moved for adoption. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilwoman Williamson and passed unanimously. <br />Resolution 2014 -42 adopted 6 -0. <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS <br />Councilman Schumann scheduled a Building, Zoning & Development Committee <br />meeting for Tuesday May 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss 2014 -37 & 2014 -40. The <br />Planning /Development Director is asked to attend. <br />Councilman Barker scheduled a Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee meeting for <br />Tuesday May 27, 2014 at 7:15 p.m. to discuss 2014 -41. The Mayor and Safety /Service <br />Director are asked to attend. <br />Councilman Barker made a motion to excuse the absence of Councilman Brossard. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilwoman Hemann and passed unanimously.
