MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 7, 2014 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, <br />Kearney, Limpert, Schumann and Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Clerk of Council Gallo, <br />Director of Safety /Service Glauner, Director of Planning /Development <br />Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver. <br />Absent: Director of Finance Copfer <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading — Ordinance 2014 -28, First Reading — Resolutions 2014- <br />33. 2014 -34 & 2014 -36 <br />Councilman Barker made a motion pursuant to ORC Section 149.43(e)(1) to designate <br />Clerk of Council, Marie Gallo, to act on behalf of City Council to attend training sessions <br />provided by the Attorney General of the State of Ohio regarding Council's duty to <br />provide access to public records and to perform such other obligations relating to public <br />records as may be required by law. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney <br />and passed unanimously. Clerk of Council, Marie Gallo, designated as Council's public <br />records designee pursuant to ORC Section 149.43(e)(1). <br />Council President Jones appointed Clerk of Council, Marie Gallo, to be her designee <br />related to training and all public records law as needed as the President of City Council is <br />a separately elected position per the City Charter. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• The Mayor presented his Mayor's Race 5K Run scholarships (list of winners and <br />their respective biographies are attached to these minutes). <br />• He congratulated North Olmsted Citizen of the Year, Vera Brewer. <br />• The baseball and softball programs are up and running. Four hundred and sixty <br />kids have enrolled, which is the highest number of participants in the last fifteen <br />years. <br />• Preparations have started for the annual Ice Show which will take place May 16 <br />through May 18. <br />• The What's Next Workshop is Tuesday May 13, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at John Knox <br />Church.
