Whereas: Barbara Sostakowski has given her time and talents to the Scouts in North Olmsted for the past twenty years; and Whereas: Barbara has spent fourteen years as Hospitality Chairperson, continuing on after her son aged out of the troop and has been a member of the North Olmsted All Scouts Day Committee serving as the Chairperson of the Ribbons and Flowers Committee; and Whereas: Barbara has been responsible for all of the Troop Courts of Honor as well as Eagle Courts of Honor. She has served on many Boards of Review for all ranks including that of Eagle; and Whereas: For many years, Barbara has helped with the troop's annual rigatoni dinner. In addition, she helps with the Blue and Gold crossover dinner for the sister pack Cub Scout 630; and Whereas: Barbara has been an usher at St. Brendan Church for a number of years and was a member of her Parish Council for two years. She is also a member of the Holy Name Society and has worked in the bingo kitchen for twenty years; and Whereas: Barbara has been a member of the Steering Committee of the Golden Navigators, a senior group at her church for five years; and Whereas: Barbara was a personal care giver and currently assists in a dental office. She and her husband Peter have two children together. Their daughter Stephanie who is a pharmacist and their son Peter Jr., an Eagle Scout and now a chef. Barbara Sostakowski is a leader and mentor for today's Youth and is deserving of the title of Mrs. Scouting. Now, therefore I, Kevin M. Kennedy, Mayor of the City of North Olmsted, on behalf of our community, do hereby recognize with honor Barbara Sostakowski and commend her on her outstanding achievements and dedicated service to the Scouts and to our community.
