Lieutenant: <br />An individual having the rank of Lieutenant in the <br />Fire Department. <br />Light Dutv: That work assigned to an employee during time <br />when an employee is acting under disability or poor <br />health. <br />Line Personnel: <br />Individuals working a 24 -hour shift in a 72 -hour <br />period who are not Staff Personnel. <br />Normal Work Schedule: One (1) twenty -four (24) consecutive hour shift <br />followed by forty -eight (48) hours off duty, <br />However, for reasons of shift transfer, training, <br />Light Duty or emergency disaster, the Fire Chief <br />may change an Employee's work shifts to meet the <br />Employer's needs that are affected by a shift <br />transfer, training, Light Duty or emergency disaster. <br />Overtime: In the case of Line Personnel, any time worked in <br />excess of twenty -four (24) hours in a seventy -two <br />(72) hour period or as specified in Article XI, <br />Paramedic Certification: That certification as awarded by the State of Ohio in <br />accordance with the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Safetv Director: The individual occupying the position of Safety <br />Director of the Employer from time to time. <br />Seniority: A position determined by continuous service in the <br />North Olmsted Fire Department from the <br />employee's first date of employment. Continuous <br />service shall be broken only in resignation, <br />discharge, retirement, or leave of absence for <br />personal reasons. Employees with the same <br />employment date shall be assigned seniority in the <br />order of their ranking on the Civil Service eligible <br />list. <br />Shift Captain: The individual designated as such or his designee. <br />Staff Personnel: Staff Personnel permanently assigned to a forty (40) <br />hour week and understood to be such personnel by <br />the Employer and the Association.
