MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 5, 2014 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Hemann, Kearney, <br />Limpert and Schumann <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo and Director of Safety /Service Glauner <br />Absent: Council Members Brossard and Williamson <br />Director of Planning /Development Wenger and Director of Human <br />Resources Farver <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of October 21, 2014 were approved as written. <br />Councilman Barker made a motion to amend the agenda to remove Ordinance 2014 -75. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Ordinance <br />2014 -75 removed from the agenda 5 -0. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading — Ordinance 2014 -74. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• He presented Firefighters, Lieutenant Kenneth Hehnen and Lieutenant Don Swan, <br />with Proclamations for their retirements from the North Olmsted Fire Department. <br />• He congratulated the North Olmsted schools, students and teachers on the passage <br />of the school Bond Issue for new learning facilities. <br />• Veteran's Day is Tuesday November 11, 2014. The City of North Olmsted will <br />coordinate with the High School and VFW to have a ceremony to recognize <br />Veterans. <br />• The first ever Princess Ball at Springvale Ballroom is November 16, 2014 from <br />5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. <br />• The New Year's Eve Bicentennial Bash will be held at Springvale on December <br />31, 2014. Tickets are $75.00. <br />• Assistant City Engineer, Jonathan Kocinski, has announced his resignation from <br />Richard L. Bowen & Associates effective November 14, 2014. He is saddened <br />that he is leaving the City of North Olmsted, but he has taken a job closer to his <br />home. He will be missed, and the city is working on his replacement. <br />
