MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED NOVEMBER 5, 2014 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert and Schumann Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo and Director of Safety /Service Glauner Absent: Council Members Brossard and Williamson Director of Planning /Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of October 21, 2014 were approved as written. Councilman Barker made a motion to amend the agenda to remove Ordinance 2014 -75. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. Ordinance 2014 -75 removed from the agenda 5 -0. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading — Ordinance 2014 -74. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • He presented Firefighters, Lieutenant Kenneth Hehnen and Lieutenant Don Swan, with Proclamations for their retirements from the North Olmsted Fire Department. • He congratulated the North Olmsted schools, students and teachers on the passage of the school Bond Issue for new learning facilities. • Veteran's Day is Tuesday November 11, 2014. The City of North Olmsted will coordinate with the High School and VFW to have a ceremony to recognize Veterans. • The first ever Princess Ball at Springvale Ballroom is November 16, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. • The New Year's Eve Bicentennial Bash will be held at Springvale on December 31, 2014. Tickets are $75.00. • Assistant City Engineer, Jonathan Kocinski, has announced his resignation from Richard L. Bowen & Associates effective November 14, 2014. He is saddened that he is leaving the City of North Olmsted, but he has taken a job closer to his home. He will be missed, and the city is working on his replacement.
