Whereas: Lieutenant Kenneth Hehnen retired from the City of North Olmsted after twenty - <br />nine years of service on October 16, 2014. He has faithfully assisted the residents <br />of North Olmsted, his colleagues and the Mayor; and <br />Whereas: Ken began his career with the City of North Olmsted Fire Department on October <br />7, 1985 as a Firefighter /Paramedic; and <br />Whereas: He has succeeded above and beyond, holding numerous certifications ranging <br />from CPR/AED Instructor and Program Manager to CERT Team Instructor. Ken <br />was promoted to Lieutenant in 2003 and was voted Firefighter of the year in 2000 <br />and 2013; and <br />Whereas: Ken is married to his wife of 14 years, Beth. He has 4 children and 3 step- <br />children, Jenny, Julie, Katie, Kelly, Michael, Ryan and Jeff. He also is a <br />grandfather of 4 to Marissa, Henry, Ben and Harper; and <br />Whereas: In his spare time, Ken enjoys skiing, biking, running and traveling. In his <br />retirement, he plans to enjoy more of his hobbies, and spend time with his family. <br />He also plans to continue teaching CPR and ACLS and working part time as a <br />special events Paramedic for University Hospital at Cleveland Browns home <br />games and other events; and <br />Whereas: Lieutenant Hehnen will always remember the several babies he delivered as well <br />as the firefighter /paramedics he worked with past and present. <br />Now therefore I, Kevin M. Kennedy, Mayor of the City of North Olmsted, and on behalf of the <br />entire staff, do hereby congratulate Lieutenant Kenneth Hehnen on his retirement and bestow <br />special recognition for his many years of service to the City of North Olmsted and its residents, <br />and thank him for his dedication to our community and wish him the best on his departure. <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand <br />and cause the Seal of the City of North Olmsted to <br />be affixed this Fifth day of November 2014. <br />Kevin M.
