Whereas: Lieutenant Donald Lester Swan retired from the City of North Olmsted after <br />thirty -three years of service on June 30, 2014. He has faithfully assisted the <br />residents of North Olmsted, his colleagues and the Mayor; and <br />Whereas: Don began his career with the City of North Olmsted Fire Department on July 13, <br />1981 as a Firefighter /Paramedic; and <br />Whereas: With Don's dedication, he elevated to leadership roles and was promoted to <br />Lieutenant in July, 1992; and <br />Whereas: Don is married to his wife of 15 years, Deborah Ann. He has 4 children, Jake, <br />Nikki, Reid and Luke and 3 grandchildren; Madison, Ellery and Ronan. He also <br />has 2 puppies and 3 grand puppies; and <br />Whereas: In his spare time, Don enjoys architecture, woodworking, hunting, fishing and <br />horticulture; and <br />Whereas: In his retirement, he plans to build at and then move to Portland, New York; and <br />Whereas: Lieutenant Swan will always value the countless events he has experienced <br />throughout his career with the City of North Olmsted that made a large impact in <br />people's lives. <br />Now therefore I, Kevin M. Kennedy, Mayor of the City of North Olmsted, and on behalf of the <br />entire staff, do hereby congratulate Lieutenant Donald Swan on his retirement and bestow special <br />recognition for his many years of service to the City of North Olmsted and its residents, and <br />thank him for his dedication to our community and wish him the best on his departure. <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand <br />and cause the Seal of the City of North Olmsted to <br />be affixed this Fifth day of November 2014. <br />Kevin M.
