MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED DECEMBER 16, 2014 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert and Schumann Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety /Service Glauner, Director of Planning /Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver Absent: Council Member Williamson Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Council meeting minutes of December 2, 2014 and special Council meeting minutes of December 9, 2014 were approved as written. The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules this evening: Second Reading — Ordinance 2014 -85, Resolution 2014 -86, Ordinance 2014 -87, Ordinance 2014 -88, Ordinance 2014 -89 and Ordinance 2014 -91; First Reading — Resolution 2014 -98. REPORTS Mayor Kennedy: • He swore in Firefighter, Tim Gut. • The employee breakfast is tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and he will be working the omelette station. • The Springvale Ballroom will host the New Year's Eve Bicentennial Bash on December 31, 2014. Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased online. • On December 20, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and on December 21, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. there will be an open house for the Recreation Center. There is still some work to be done, but it looks great so far. He encouraged everyone to attend the open house. Director of Law Gareau: • He extended holiday wishes and a happy New Year to everyone. • Regarding property maintenance, there are six cases where sentences were imposed, four cases with convictions pending, five open cases, one complaint authorized and awaiting filing and seven complaints with unresolved service issues. He and the Building Dept. are working to improve the property maintenance process for the year 2015.
