MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 16, 2014 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, <br />Kearney, Limpert and Schumann <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br />Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety /Service Glauner, Director of <br />Planning /Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver <br />Absent: Council Member Williamson <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of December 2, 2014 and special Council meeting minutes <br />of December 9, 2014 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading — Ordinance 2014 -85, Resolution 2014 -86, Ordinance <br />2014 -87, Ordinance 2014 -88, Ordinance 2014 -89 and Ordinance 2014 -91; First Reading <br />— Resolution 2014 -98. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• He swore in Firefighter, Tim Gut. <br />• The employee breakfast is tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and he will be <br />working the omelette station. <br />• The Springvale Ballroom will host the New Year's Eve Bicentennial Bash on <br />December 31, 2014. Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased online. <br />• On December 20, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and on December 21, <br />2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. there will be an open house for the <br />Recreation Center. There is still some work to be done, but it looks great so far. <br />He encouraged everyone to attend the open house. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• He extended holiday wishes and a happy New Year to everyone. <br />• Regarding property maintenance, there are six cases where sentences were <br />imposed, four cases with convictions pending, five open cases, one complaint <br />authorized and awaiting filing and seven complaints with unresolved service <br />issues. He and the Building Dept. are working to improve the property <br />maintenance process for the year 2015. <br />
